Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, made a trip back to London to attend a preliminary hearing in his legal battle against Associated Newspapers Ltd. (A&L), the publisher of the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday.

The Duke, who is one of several high-profile figures taking legal action against A&L, arrived at the Royal Courts of Justice last Thursday for the hearing related to unlawful information gathering.

During the hearing, Prince Harry provided a witness statement, condemning the use of unethical methods such as phone hacking by journalists, which he deemed criminal.

Interestingly, his appearance coincided with King Charles III’s historic speech to the Bundestag in Germany, marking his first overseas state visit as monarch.

Despite their overlapping presence in the country, it is rumored that the father and son did not have an opportunity to meet, fueling speculation about the state of their relationship.

Trending:

According to Alexander Larman, author of The Windsors at War, this latest development in the ongoing rift between the Windsors suggests that the monarch is signaling a point of no return for his second son.

Christopher Anderson, author of The King, claims that Charles is still deeply upset with Harry for the bombshell accusations made in his memoir, Spare.

The memoir portrayed Charles’ wife, Camilla, in a negative light, labeling her as a villainous schemer.

Anderson asserts that even if Harry desires reconciliation before the coronation, a warm reception seems highly unlikely, especially considering reports that Prince William has expressed disgust over the situation.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams also weighed in on the matter, stating that Harry is not expected to have any interactions with his family during this visit.

He believes that the divide between the Sussexes and the royal family runs deep, leaving no room for a potential meeting.

Ingrid Seward, another royal author, shares a similar sentiment, suggesting that Charles has little incentive to engage in a confrontation with Harry after the disloyalty displayed in his book, Spare.

Meanwhile, Buckingham Palace confirmed that King Charles III was not in Windsor or London during Prince Harry’s visit.

Instead, the king and queen consort, Camilla, embarked on a three-day state visit to Germany, marking the first overseas trip of Charles’ reign.

In his speech to the German parliament, Charles expressed gratitude for the condolences he received after the passing of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, and emphasized the strong bond between the UK and Germany.

He also acknowledged Germany’s efforts to assist with the humanitarian consequences of the conflict in Ukraine.

The king’s speech was met with an overwhelming standing ovation from the German parliament, lasting nearly two minutes.

As Prince Harry’s legal battle continues and the rift within the royal family deepens, it remains to be seen whether reconciliation is possible in the future.

The absence of a meeting between father and son during this visit further fuels speculation about the strained relationship between them.
