Prince Harry and Meghan Will Return to the U.K. for the Queen’s Jubilee Celebrations
Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee is next year, and Buckingham Palace just confirmed that celebrations will take place. The largest festivities will happen over a four-day holiday weekend from June 2 to June 5, when the royals and people all across the United Kingdom commemorate the Queen’s historic 70-year reign.
Multiple sources told Page Six that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are “absolutely” on the Queen’s invite list for her Platinum Jubilee — and will not be “iced out.”
“The Jubilee is a family event, and all of the queen’s family will be invited, including Harry, Meghan and their children,” a source told Us Weekly.
Even though no formal guest lists have been posted, Queen Elizabeth is likely to invite Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who are now residing in California after stepping down from their royal positions last year.
On Wednesday, it was revealed that The Trooping of the Colour will kick off the celebrations on June 2. The queen, who is 95 years old, and members of the royal family will watch the procession from a balcony at Buckingham Palace.

The festivities will continue on June 3 with a Thanksgiving Service at St Paul’s Cathedral. The Queen and her family will next attend a horse race at Epsom Downs on June 4 and a concert later that day with “some of the world’s biggest entertainment stars.” On June 5, the Jubilee will end with lunch and a pageant.
Prince Harry last flew over the pond in April to attend the burial of his grandpa, Prince Philip, while Duchess Meghan stayed in Montecito since her doctors advised her not to due to her pregnancy.
The Jubilee celebrations will most likely be the couple’s first return to Harry’s hometown together since they abruptly left the royal family in 2020 and relocated to California.
The pair announced their plans to retire in January 2020, and Buckingham Palace confirmed in February 2021 that they will not return as working royals. “While we are all saddened by their decision, the duke and duchess remain much-loved members of the family,” the queen said at the time in a statement.
For quite some time, Prince Harry and Meghan have not been on the best of terms with a few of the royals; the Duke of Sussex has reportedly still not fully reconciled with Prince Charles or Prince William, though Kate Middleton is thought to be acting as a “peacemaker” between her husband and brother-in-law.
The Queen, who is already the longest-serving monarch in British history, will be the first to commemorate a Platinum Jubilee, with royal activities planned throughout the year.
In March, an insider told Us exclusively that Elizabeth “has always had a soft spot for Harry and looked out for him.” Despite her efforts to “be understanding and see things from Harry’s perspective” when he and Meghan made bombshell charges about the royals in their CBS tell-all interview, she found the charges difficult to “digest.”
The Sussexes have opened up about what led them to resign from their senior royal roles in recent months, and revealed during an interview with Oprah Winfrey that a family member made racist remarks about Archie’s skin tone, as well as that the Firm refused to help them when they sought treatment for their mental health. Throughout The Me You Can’t See docuseries, Prince Harry went into further detail about his personal mental health journey, including the lack of assistance he felt as a kid following his mother’s death, as well as his anxieties of history repeating itself with his wife.
