Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Face Criticism Over UK Return Announcement
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have come under fire from a royal family expert for their recent announcement regarding their return to the UK.
The expert, Kinsey Schofield, warned that senior members of the royal family may not be pleased with the timing of the announcement, as it coincided with Princess Anne’s birthday.
On Monday, the couple revealed their plans to visit Britain once again next month, where they will play important roles in various charitable events.
Their first stop will be Manchester on September 5, where Meghan, who is a counselor for the organization, will deliver the keynote address at the One Young World Summit’s opening ceremony.
The following day, they will travel to Germany for the Invictus Games Düsseldorf 2023 One Year to Go event.

Finally, they will return to the UK for the WellChild Awards in London on September 8, where Prince Harry will deliver a speech.
This visit will mark Harry and Meghan’s first time back in the UK together since attending the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June.
Despite the noble intentions behind their return, Schofield believes that senior royals may not be thrilled with the timing of the announcement.
Making matters worse, the couple chose to make the announcement on Princess Anne’s 72nd birthday.
Schofield explained that Prince Charles is aiming to streamline the monarchy rather than introduce a competing royal family.
Therefore, the senior royals may not be pleased with Monday’s announcement, particularly because it coincided with Princess Anne’s birthday celebrations.
Last Monday, the royal family Twitter account shared a picture of a smiling Anne, accompanied by a message from the Queen wishing her daughter a happy birthday.
Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge also posted a birthday message on social media.
During their previous visit to the UK in June, Harry and Meghan maintained a relatively low profile and avoided the spotlight.
While they did not join the other royals on the Buckingham Palace balcony for the Trooping the Colourfly over, they did attend a service of thanksgiving for the Queen at St Paul’s Cathedral the following day.
The couple’s upcoming visit to the UK will coincide with the announcement of the new Prime Minister, who will be tasked with forming a new government.
It is expected that the Queen, who is currently on her annual summer break at Balmoral, will return to London to fulfill her head of state duties.
Although it is likely that Harry and Meghan will visit the Queen, it is unlikely that they will meet with Prince William and Kate, which further fuels speculation of strained relations between the two couples.
Schofield expressed doubt that Harry and Meghan will spend much time with their relatives during their visit.
She believes that the only member of the royal family who may attempt to see the Sussexes is the Queen.
However, she also noted that this visit feels like a mere imitation of a royal engagement, and she does not believe that the Queen would encourage it.
Interestingly, in a recent promotional video lasting 1 minute and 33 seconds, Meghan is referred to as a Duchess, despite her and Harry’s decision to step back from royal life.
