Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made their way back to the UK for the first time since leaving the country, to participate in the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

The couple, accompanied by their children Archie, 3, and 11-month-old Lilibet, are bringing their youngest child to the UK for the very first time.

Although they are no longer working royals, there is a possibility that they may attend a Thanksgiving service at St Paul’s Cathedral on Friday, as reported by ITV News.

This visit presents an opportunity for the Sussexes and other members of the royal family to mend some of the rifts that have deepened since Harry and Meghan made the decision to step away from royal life and relocate to California.

Having frequently appeared in the United States media, where they have openly criticized the royal family and its way of life, their arrival in the UK signifies a desire to shift the focus back to the Queen and keep a low profile.

Consequently, they will limit their media appearances and only bring a small team of media advisors and security personnel, according to ITV News.

On the other hand, palace officials are also hoping that the presence of the Sussexes will not overshadow the Queen’s jubilee festivities.

Additionally, the couple will be celebrating their daughter Lilibet’s first birthday while in the UK, coinciding with June 4.

Reports suggest that the Queen will join the couple in celebrating her great-granddaughter’s special day, indicating that she may not attend the Epsom Derby as initially planned.

This will mark the first meeting between the 96-year-old monarch and Lilibet, who was named after her.

It will also be the first time the Queen has seen three-year-old Archie since he was a baby.

According to a royal insider who spoke to Hollywood Life, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are eagerly anticipating their reunion with the Queen over the weekend.

The source revealed that both Harry and Meghan have a special bond with the Queen and cannot wait for her to spend time with their children.

They are especially excited about witnessing the bond between the Queen and Archie and Lilibet.

The insider emphasized that although the entire weekend will revolve around the Queen, it is also a significant milestone as they celebrate Lilibet’s first birthday alongside the rest of Harry’s family.

While the couple now resides in California, they will not be the sole focus during the jubilee celebrations.

Their first public appearance is expected to be at the Thanksgiving service at St. Paul’s Cathedral on Friday, where they will blend in with the crowd and sit among other attendees in a church pew.

Omid Scobie, Meghan and Harry’s biographer, stated that the couple was particularly keen on participating in the service of Thanksgiving rather than making an appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

According to Scobie, the Duke of Sussex expressed his desire to be part of the jubilee engagements, including the national service of Thanksgiving at St. Paul’s Cathedral, while feeling less inclined towards the formal balcony moment, which he believed was more suited to their previous roles.

Interestingly, there might still be a chance for Harry and Meghan to make a balcony appearance after all.

Richard Palmer, a royal correspondent, mentioned that a second balcony appearance with the couple is not entirely out of the question.

Although officials have remained tight-lipped about the details, there are plans for a jubilee finale that may include the royal family being present in a royal box or even appearing on the balcony.

During a briefing, a royal aide smiled and nodded when asked about the possibility of another balcony moment, indicating that there may indeed be one, albeit without providing any definitive confirmation.

In conclusion, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s arrival in the UK for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations signifies a significant moment for both the couple and the royal family.
