In anticipation of King Charles and Queen Camilla’s upcoming coronation, rehearsals are in full swing, with the royal family actively participating.

On Wednesday morning, Prince William and Kate Middleton, accompanied by their three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis – arrived at Westminster Abbey for a rehearsal.

They joined King Charles, Queen Camilla, and Princess Earn for the practice session.

The day began with King Charles arriving at Westminster Abbey, where he will be crowned by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, on Saturday around midday.

As the Wales family pulled up into Dean’s Yard behind the abbey, they coincided with a changeover of classes at Westminster School.

Excited children who spotted the young family waved enthusiastically, and Princess Charlotte, who recently celebrated her eighth birthday, waved back.

Witnesses noted that Princess Kate appeared relaxed and happy during the rehearsal.

King Charles, too, seemed at ease as his crowning approached, wearing a broad smile.

The arrivals to the rehearsal started with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, followed by Princess Earn, Queen Camilla, and finally, King Charles and the Wales family, who arrived separately.

Both Prince William, 40, and Prince George, 9, have special roles to play in the coronation ceremony.

After King Charles is crowned, Prince William, as the Prince of Wales, will kneel before his father and pledge his allegiance, saying, “I, William, Prince of Wales, pledge my loyalty to you and will bear faith and truth unto you, as your liege man of life and limb.

So help me God.”

Prince George, on the other hand, will serve as one of King Charles’ four pages of honor during the event.

This participation will make history, as the Telegraph reports that Prince George will become the youngest future king to have an official role in a coronation.

Following the coronation service, Prince George, along with his siblings Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, is expected to ride in a horse-drawn carriage as part of the coronation procession back to Buckingham Palace.

The trial run at Westminster Abbey follows a meticulous rehearsal conducted by thousands of troops, including a night-time procession.

In the early hours of Wednesday, a grand procession of hundreds of soldiers, accompanied by the Diamond Jubilee State Coach and Gold State Coach, marched down the mall alongside comrades on horseback.

Preparations for the coronation have also been underway at Buckingham Palace’s ballroom.

A coronation theater was constructed to replicate the area below the high altar at Westminster Abbey, allowing participants to familiarize themselves with the layout and rehearse in private.

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak was seen entering the historic church earlier in the day.

In the coming days, additional practice runs will take place, resembling a school play where different sections rehearse their respective parts, according to an aide at Buckingham Palace.

The excitement and anticipation continue to build as the coronation of King Charles draws near.
