In the wake of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s departure from Spotify, recent reports have emerged speculating the vulnerability of their lucrative Netflix deal.

However, Netflix has firmly dismissed these claims, asserting that they maintain a positive relationship with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Entertainment Tonight Canada sought clarification from Netflix, and a spokesperson unequivocally stated, “…we value our partnership with Actuelle Productions.

Harry and Meghan was Netflix’s biggest documentary debut ever, and we will continue to work together on a number of projects, including the upcoming documentary series, Heart of Invictus.”

Fueling the rumors, The Sun, a British tabloid previously sued by Prince Harry, published an article suggesting that the fate of Meghan and Harry’s Netflix contract hangs in the balance.

According to the report, the couple allegedly needs to deliver a tension-grabbing series to secure the remaining half of their substantial £81m, $103m agreement with Netflix.

Although the article acknowledged the success of their popular docuseries, Harry and Meghan, it seemed to disregard Netflix’s satisfaction with the series’ performance, as clearly stated in their statement.

However, an unidentified source quoted by The Sun added a note of caution, mentioning that the remainder of the deal relies on the production of these good ideas.

It is not uncommon for a deal of this magnitude to be continually under review.

Providing further insights, Town & Country reported on one of the projects currently in development by Meghan and Harry’s production company, Actuelle Productions.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the couple is said to be working on a potential television show titled Bad Manners, an intriguing adaptation of the Miss Havisham character from Charles Dickens’ renowned novel, Great Expectations.

The prequel aims to transform the character of the lonely spinster into a resilient woman navigating a patriarchal society.

Whether Netflix will grant the green light for this project remains unclear.

As of now, neither Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, nor Netflix have commented on the validity of the prequel report, leaving fans and industry insiders eagerly awaiting further updates.

The news has sparked discussions among viewers.
