Awkward moments are something we all experience at some point in our lives, but for those in the spotlight, these incidents can be hard to forget.
Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has had her fair share of such moments.
From presenting awards at a charity event to navigating royal etiquette, Markle has shown her ability to handle these situations with poise and grace.
One notable incident occurred during her engagement to Prince Harry when she was tasked with presenting awards at the Endeavor Fund Charity ceremony.
Unfortunately, the co-host got confused with the notes, leading to an awkward pause.

However, Markle quickly stepped in, offering assistance with her own notes and lightening the tension with a joke.
Her quick thinking allowed her visibly nervous partner to sort out the confusion.
As an American woman thrust into the royal spotlight, Markle had to learn royal etiquette on the go.
In 2018, during a public trip with Queen Elizabeth, she hesitated getting into the car, unsure of who should sit first.
To avoid any missteps, she simply asked the Queen about her preferences, to which the Queen replied, “You go first.”
This moment showcased Markle’s willingness to learn and adapt to her new role.
During a visit to an animal shelter she supports, Markle encountered another awkward situation.
While greeting the staff, she overheard someone refer to her as the “fat lady.”
Instead of feeling embarrassed, Markle laughed it off, later discovering that the woman who made the comment was of Jamaican origin, where the term “fat” means heavily pregnant.
The remark turned out to be harmless and showed Markle’s ability to find humor in uncomfortable situations.
Perhaps one of the most talked-about awkward moments involving Markle took place in 2022 at a polo game where Prince Harry was participating.
As the Duchess handed her husband and his teammates a cup, she seemed unsure of what to do with herself.
The situation was further complicated by the wide-brimmed hat she wore, which kept brushing against the men.
To add to the embarrassment, when Markle kissed her husband, a red lipstick mark was left on his face.
This incident sparked speculation about the couple’s relationship, with socialite publications dissecting the way Markle removed the lipstick.
Recently, during a farewell event for Queen Elizabeth II, Markle encountered another uncomfortable moment.
A woman in the crowd refused to shake her hand and turned away altogether.
Undeterred, Markle handled the situation like a professional, walking past the unfriendly lady and continuing to greet the rest of the crowd.
Additionally, Markle declined to give the flowers she had just received to an assistant, causing some awkwardness.
However, she assured everyone that she would ensure the bouquet was delivered to the castle gate.
Later, she gave the roses to another assistant, pointing towards the gate, presumably providing instructions on where to leave them.
Throughout these various incidents, Meghan Markle has consistently shown her ability to handle awkward situations with grace and composure.
