After losing their Spotify deal, the couple’s future plans are uncertain, with rumors suggesting they could sign a new fashion deal.

However, journalist and author Damien Riley believes it may be the end of the road for the couple’s reputation and business plans.

Netflix is said to be considering dropping their £78 million ($100 million) deal with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, following in the footsteps of Spotify.

The streaming giant is getting rid of all their dead weight due to the writer strike, and it seems Prince Harry and Meghan may not be meeting the performance metrics they need to make Netflix the money they’d expect.

The couple released their controversial docuseries Harry and Meghan at the end of last year, which followed their lives from the time they stepped down as senior royals in March 2020.

However, it seems that the lemon has been fully squeezed, and reports suggest that Netflix could be dropping the contract payment lighter to Meghan and dropping all film halfway as their marriage ends.

Writing to The Spectator, Mr. Riley referenced the infamous South Park episode that mocked the Duke and Duchess of Sussex earlier this year, pinpointing it as a turning point for the couple’s media reputation.

He said that the couple had previously been able to write off all the endless criticism before they were mercilessly savaged by the coolest kids in Tinseltown.

It’s hard not to feel a little sympathy for Meghan, not least because it feels like the end of the road, reputationally.

First, she enraged large sections of the public in the UK with her antics, but then she left, seemingly for the promise of being better understood and therefore more free in America.

But history seems to be repeating itself now, and increasingly she is being openly mocked for what is perceived to be a grift, swindle of monetizing and using for social advancement, the supposed horrors of a life of unimaginable royal privilege.

Last week, the couple had their lucrative Spotify deal taken away from them just after one season of Meghan’s podcast Archetypes aired.

Questions remain over what the couple will do next, with reports suggesting they could sign a new fashion deal, though Dior has rebuted rumors of a signing.

Bill Simmons had a podcast innovation at the streaming giant hit out at the couple over a fractured deal, branding them fucking grifters.

An insider told The Sun, the feeling is the lemon has been fully squeezed.

It comes as Netflix picks up old series, like Suits or shows from other countries.

Netflix would have renewed the performance metrics for all contracts at the end of last year and have probably been in talks about cancellation or renewal in time for the end of their fiscal year, which is in March.

Given the hastily thrown together Live to Lead documentary released at the end of the year, Harry and Meghan may technically be meeting their obligations, but it’s doubtful they are meeting the performance metrics they need to make Netflix the money they’d expect.
