Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s groundbreaking documentary series on Netflix, titled “Harry Meghan,” has garnered attention and is now being tipped for a potential nomination at the Emmy Awards.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex signed a lucrative multi-year deal with the streaming giant, reportedly worth £40 million, after stepping down as senior working members of the royal family.

The six-part documentary series delved into the lives of the couple, making several allegations against members of the royal family, including Prince William and King Charles.

Despite the controversy, the show’s impressive viewership records have raised the possibility of earning an Emmy Award nomination in the documentary or non-fiction series category.

Mark Boardman, a showbiz writer and media commentator, who also serves as the entertainment editor at Mark Meats, shared his insights on the matter.

He explained that the Emmy panel would be well acquainted with all potential nominees, emphasizing that where there’s smoke, there’s fire.

Boardman expressed confidence in the show’s chances of being nominated, as it would generate significant press attention for the Emmy Awards.

Considering the groundbreaking nature of the series, Boardman stated, “Based on viewing figures alone, it has to be nominated for being groundbreaking TV.

It was so open and honest, and this will be of great standing for Netflix.”

He further emphasized the importance of the award for Netflix, adding that not winning would have consequences for the streaming giant, while a win would elevate their status significantly.

Boardman continued to express his belief in the couple’s success, stating, “There is definitely every chance there is a win for Harry, Meghan, and Netflix, and I am 100% confident it will get nominated.”

He highlighted the high-profile nature of the documentary series within its category, making it a strong contender for a nomination, even though the official nominations have yet to be announced.

Boardman concluded by noting that an Emmy win could potentially lead to a massive exclusive deal for the couple with Netflix, amounting to hundreds of millions of dollars.

To achieve such a lucrative deal, Boardman suggested that Harry and Meghan should venture into making real-life documentaries, following in the footsteps of Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana.

He believed that this approach would provide Netflix with a year’s worth of captivating content, making the couple indispensable to the streaming giant.

When asked about the potential financial gains if the Sussexes were to win an Emmy award, Boardman estimated that they could pocket between £250 million ($318 million) and £300 million ($381 million) through an exclusive deal.
