Meghan and Harry’s Sad Decision: Archie and Lilibet Not Invited to Coronation

Archie and Lilibet Markle, the children of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, have not been invited to the upcoming coronation of King Charles.

While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have received invitations themselves, their kids will not be accompanying them if they decide to attend.

The couple is faced with a difficult choice – whether to witness the historic event at Westminster Abbey or celebrate their son Archie’s fourth birthday with him.

On May 6, the same day as King Charles’ coronation, Archie will be turning four.

One option for the Sussexes is to bring Archie and Lilibet to the UK before attending the event without them.

However, concerns over security in the UK may make this option less appealing to the couple.

Despite recently receiving their royal titles, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have reportedly not yet been granted invitations to the coronation, as reported by The Telegraph.

During a meeting in California last week, Prince Harry opened up about the profound impact that raising his two children, Archie Harrison and Lilibet Diana, has had on him.

Reflecting on his experience, he remarked, “The more filters you have in life, the longer you’ve been around.

Kids ground you.”

In a positive development for Meghan and Harry, the royal family has updated Archie and Lilibet’s titles.

They are now officially recognized as Prince Archie of Sussex and Princess Lilibet of Sussex, as stated on the succession section of the official website.

While their children rank sixth and seventh in the line of succession, Prince Harry himself holds the fifth position.

Buckingham Palace confirmed the usage of the Prince and Princess titles for the children in a statement released last Wednesday.

In response to their children’s new titles, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry issued their own statement, expressing that their children have been entitled to these titles by birth when their grandfather ascended to the throne.

The issue has been resolved in accordance with Buckingham Palace for some time.

However, the titles of Prince and Princess will be used occasionally, but not consistently, for Archie and Lilibet.

Meanwhile, as King Charles prepares for his coronation, he must also contend with the presence of hundreds of protesters.

Republic, an anti-monarchy group, plans to rally against the monarchy and King Charles during the event in May.

Since the passing of Queen Elizabeth in September last year, demonstrations against the monarchy and the new king have become more overt.

Republic aims to encourage more people to join their 1,000-strong protest at King Charles’ coronation.

Republic’s CEO, Graham Smith, revealed that the group has experienced a surge in membership and revenue recently.

However, the Metropolitan Police claim they have not observed a significant increase in anti-monarchy protests.

Republic has already organized demonstrations against royal visits to Milton Keynes and Colchester this year, as well as staging a gathering outside Westminster Abbey during the Commonwealth Day service attended by senior members of the royal family earlier this month.

Looking ahead to the coronation on May 6, Republic hopes to hold a demonstration during King Charles’ visit to York on April 6.

Mr. Smith expressed hopes that their protests would embolden people, considering the arrests made last year following the expression of anti-royalist opinions.

He stated, “I think the ground is more fertile than ever for us to campaign and for more people to support the idea of a republic.”

The group’s income in 2021 was £286,000, a significant increase from £106,000 in 2020, with thousands of new donors and members joining their cause.
