Meghan and Harry’s Next Netflix Project Underway as They Maintain £40 Million Deal
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, are continuing their collaboration with Netflix, despite rumors suggesting trouble within their agreement with Archewell.
The streaming giant’s spokesperson has refuted these claims.
Their next venture involves the development of a new project based on Charles Dickens’ renowned 1861 novel, “Great Expectations,” with a particular focus on the character of Miss Havisham.
Titled “Bad Manners,” the show aims to shed light on the spinster, portraying her as a strong woman in a patriarchal society.
According to the Wall Street Journal, this prequel will reimagine the lonely spinster as a formidable figure navigating a society dominated by men.

However, it remains uncertain whether Netflix will ultimately greenlight the show.
Speculation arose about the couple’s future collaborations after news broke about their Spotify partnership coming to an end.
Nevertheless, Netflix has denied any issues in their working relationship, emphasizing their deep value for the connection with Archewell Productions.
They assured that their collaboration is far from over, with several projects currently in the works, including the highly anticipated documentary series, “Heart of Invictus.”
Since signing with Netflix, the Sussexes have experienced great success with their explosive documentary series, “Harry and Meghan.”
This series allowed them to share their personal journey, providing insights into their relationship and experiences as working members of the royal family.
On the other hand, their documentary, “Live to Lead,” received mixed reviews, and a planned animated series featuring Meghan was canceled due to budget cuts.
However, their upcoming series, “Heart of Invictus,” which follows the training journey of injured and sick military personnel for the Invictus Games, is set for release in August.
When the deal with Netflix was announced, co-CEO Reed Hastings expressed his excitement, describing it as “epic entertainment.”
He praised the couple’s intelligence in exploring various options before choosing Netflix and expressed confidence in their ability to deliver a wide range of captivating content.
Despite the enthusiasm surrounding their upcoming projects, an expert on Charles Dickens, Dr. Emily Bell, has voiced concerns about revisiting the character of Miss Havisham.
Dr. Bell, a professor of English and editor of the Dickensian, warned against falling into the trap of assuming that this adaptation inherently represents feminist ideals.
She emphasized the importance of maintaining the essence of Dickens’ original story and its potential to inspire hope for a better future.
In conclusion, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s collaboration with Netflix continues to thrive, with their next project centered around Charles Dickens’ novel, “Great Expectations.”
While the streaming service denies any issues within their partnership, concerns have been raised about the portrayal of Miss Havisham as a strong woman in a patriarchal society.
Nonetheless, the Sussexes remain determined to create engaging and diverse content, with their documentary series, “Heart of Invictus,” scheduled for release in August.
