Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been called “hypocrites” after releasing private communication with Kate Middleton and Prince William.

The Sussexes “privately congratulated” the Cambridges on their 10-year wedding anniversary, confirmed a spokesman for the couple.

But a royal expert criticized the confirmation, which came after the info was revealed by the Daily Beast, as the pair insist on privacy following their departure from the Royal Family.

Royal experts questioned why the Duke and Duchess of Sussex did not convey their wishes in public like other members of the Firm.

“The Queen and Prince Charles made their messages of congratulations to William and Kate on their tenth anniversary in public so why didn’t Harry and Meghan?” said Phil Dampier, author of Royally Suited: Harry and Meghan In Their Own Words.

“Instead they relied on their spokespeople leaking out the fact they sent a message, making it look manipulated and contrived.”

The Queen was among the first to officially congratulate William and Kate, posting a message on her official Twitter account.

“Wishing The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge a very happy wedding anniversary.

“Today marks ten years since Their Royal Highnesses exchanged vows at Westminster Abbey.”

Royal Expert Angela Levin said: “Harry and Meghan are of course being hypocritical, still briefing the media.

“Their choice was to send it privately but everyone has to know how good they are by publicising it through their huge PR group of people.”

Mr Dampier believes the reported strained relationship between Harry and Meghan, as well as the rest of the family, stems from the leakage of confidential communications within the Firm.

He added: “William’s big fear is that anything he says to his brother in an effort to heal their rift is immediately leaked to the media, and that makes it very difficult for them to have a proper conversation.

“To carry on a war with Harry’s blood family is unnecessary and counter-productive, and the sooner they realise that the better.

“They should get on with their lives, stop playing the victim and stop playing on their royal connections by leaking stories while pleading for privacy.

“People can see through it and anyone who advises them to carry on this way is giving them bad advice.”

To commemorate their tenth wedding anniversary, William and Kate shared a beautiful new video featuring the couple interacting with their three children.
