King Charles Strips Harry of Councillor of State Role After Frogmore Eviction

Prince Harry is facing yet another loss of a royal role as the deadline for him and his wife Meghan to vacate Frogmore Cottage has passed.

Frogmore Cottage, a historic Grade II listed building, has served as the Sussexes’ base in the UK since their wedding in 2018.

However, earlier this year, the couple was ousted from the cottage by the King.

With this eviction, the Sussex family now finds themselves without an official royal home in the kingdom.

One significant consequence of this eviction is that Harry can no longer fulfill his role as a councillor of state.

This role holds great importance for Harry, as it grants him the right to act on behalf of the monarch when the King is either out of the country or incapacitated.

Traditionally, the individuals selected for this role are the spouse of the reigning King or Queen, as well as the first four successors to the throne who are over the age of 21 and reside in the United Kingdom.

Currently, Prince William, Prince Andrew, Princess Beatrice, and Harry meet these criteria.

However, in 2022, the King has instructed his government to include Prince Edward and Princess Anne as councillors of state.

This decision aims to ensure the continued efficiency of public business when the King is unavailable due to official duties overseas.

The addition of Edward and Anne implies that Harry’s absence from the UK may have implications not only for his own role but also for his ability to support his brother, William, in the future.

It is important to note that King Charles does not have the power to remove his son or Prince Andrew from the list of councillors of state; this responsibility lies with Parliament.

Instead, he has chosen to add Edward and Anne to the list, potentially rendering the need for Harry or Andrew to fulfill this role unnecessary.

The assumption is that their inclusion will suffice.

As the Montecito royals continue to establish their own careers in the United States while retaining their royal titles, concerns are growing.

Their popularity and commitment to their roles in the UK seem to be diminishing, raising questions about their intentions and priorities.

It appears that their focus lies primarily on their audience in the US rather than maintaining their standing in the UK.

According to royal experts, Harry’s constitutional position would only become significant if he were to return to Britain.

However, given his current unpopularity with both his brother and the British public, it is highly unlikely that he would be able to assert any constitutional role, even with King Charles’ support.

This latest development further highlights the King’s reluctance to remove the Sussexes’ titles and his potential mistake in granting titles to their children.

To put an end to the speculation and interest surrounding the Sussexes, as well as the damage they may be causing to the royal family, it is suggested that the King formally sever his son’s constitutional ties to Britain.

This action would undermine the Sussexes’ attempts to profit from their royal status and potentially bring an end to the ongoing controversy.
