Elizabeth Olsen, a star of “Avengers: Age Of Ultron,” claims that Kate Winslet’s n-k-d sequences in “Holy Smoke” gave her the confidence to strip off for on-screen action.

The 26-year-old performer claimed she first believed that doing a bare scene would be the end of her career. But later, she undressed for movies including Oldboy (2013) and Martha Marcy May Marlene (2011) with no fear.

Elizabeth admits to Net-a-The Porter’: “When I first saw Holy Smoke, I thought it was incredibly comforting to see a young Kate (Winslet) taking a risk that was so audacious in so many ways. Since not everyone in my family and circle of friends felt it was the greatest idea to be n-k-d in a movie, I reasoned to myself, ‘OK, so it doesn’t destroy your career if you appear nud£ or take risks.’

Of course, there were many who cautioned her against doing so. Elizabeth claims that “not everyone in my family and group of friends thought it was the best idea to be naked in a movie.”

The actress said that she never feels pressured to appear bare for a job and acknowledged that she understands why some ladies choose not to strip off for movies.

“There are actresses, young and old, who have decided never to do that and they become those examples people talk to you about… (but) there are times when I like to do it. You want that voyeuristic quality, but I never feel I have to be nud£ – and you won’t ever see me in a beauty shot in a bikini on a beach. That’s a character I will never play.”

Elizabeth is entering the mainstream in Avengers: Age of Ultron after a succession of lucrative independent films. She portrays the supernaturally gifted Scarlet Witch, Wanda Maximoff.

“You don’t say no to the Avengers. I’ve never experienced anything like it in terms of scale,” The actress tells The EDIT at Net-a-Porter. “We took over several towns in Italy and made them look like they were in the middle of a war. Then we moved the whole set to north London where we took over an old police academy. It was just insane, there were real explosions and you could feel the heat off them.”

Amidst all of that, she adds, was “a guy in a onesie shooting things.”

“I couldn’t even make eye contact with that. It was just too weird.”

She said that her elder sisters, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, former child stars who are now fashion designers, were her biggest influences, “My sisters are the most inspiring women to me because of the way they lead their lives. They’re insanely diligent and they taught me that you can do whatever you want if it’s your passion and you work hard at it.”
