No matter what she wears, Kate, Princess of Wales, always manages to capture attention.

Lately, she has been seen sporting a signature piece of jewelry that was once synonymous with Queen Elizabeth Ewe.

The long black gloves that Kate wore with her ethereal white gown at the BAFTAs caused quite a stir and got everyone talking.

It turns out that there is a special reason behind the royal’s choice of gloves.

The gloves, known as the Melissa Velvet Opera Glove from Cornelia James, hold a suggested retail price of £160 and were carefully selected by Kate.

Peter James, the son of the late Cornelia James, expressed his admiration for Kate’s stunning appearance and praised her beautiful attire during the event.

He also mentioned how wonderful it was to see her donning gloves, especially in the style of Cornelia James.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Peter hinted that Kate might be following in the footsteps of the late Queen, who was known for always wearing gloves in public.

It is interesting to note that Queen Elizabeth Ewe’s gloves were also made by Cornelia James.

In fact, Cornelia James was appointed as Her Majesty the Queen’s official glove maker in 1979.

According to the Cornelia James website, Queen Elizabeth Ewe rarely appeared without a pair of gloves, showcasing her unique sense of style that transcended fashion trends.

Genevieve James, the creative director of Cornelia James, highlighted the transformative power of opera gloves.

She explained that these gloves have a significant impact and can turn any gathering into a special occasion while making a dress stand out as a statement piece.

In an interview with People, Genevieve quoted Audrey Hepburn from Breakfast at Tiffany’s, saying, “Imagine Audrey Hepburn wearing just another little black dress.”

She emphasized that adding gloves to the outfit made it instantly recognizable and representative of our time, always remaining current.

In addition to her striking choice of accessories, Kate also aimed to make a statement with her hair and makeup.

Laura Kay, a makeup artist, commented on how the princess looked more regal than ever, radiating old Hollywood grandeur for the occasion.

Laura noticed the carefully defined eye makeup and brows, as well as other well-placed cosmetic decisions.

She mentioned that it was unusual to see Kate simultaneously emphasize both her clothing and makeup, suggesting that she was purposefully making this bold move.

One of the standout features was the addition of a pencil or liquid eyeliner flick, which accentuated Kate’s eyes and made them pop.

To complete the ensemble, Kate opted for a rose gold highlighter that perfectly complemented her stunning Zara earrings, adding a youthful touch.

Her trademark wavy hair was elegantly pulled back from her face and behind her ears, allowing the earrings to take center stage.
