Kate Middleton’s Interior Design Tips for a Royal Home
The Middleton family, led by Kate Middleton, 41, and Prince William, 40, made the move from Kensington Palace to Adelaide Cottage last year.
In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, an interior designer revealed how Kate transforms her house into a royal abode.
Formerly residing in Kensington Palace, Kate Middleton and Prince William now call Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor Estate their home.
Francesca Hadland, a styling consultant for Bridgman, shared her top advice for those who wish to decorate their homes in the style of the Princess of Wales.
According to Francesca, personal touches are essential when aiming for an interior design concept fit for royalty.

She emphasized that Her Majesty the Queen, the Princess of Wales, Catherine, is a supporter of photography and often uses it to capture precious moments with her loved ones.
Therefore, don’t hesitate to showcase your own family portraits and cherished heirlooms.
Whether they are recent pictures from family vacations or vintage photographs of departed loved ones, create a gallery wall in your entryway or living room, or arrange them tastefully on shelves, sideboards, and tables throughout your house.
In a home video created for Addiction Awareness Week, Kate offered viewers a glimpse inside Adelaide Cottage.
The background of her living room was adorned with numerous family portraits, many featuring her three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
Additionally, the video showcased the Prince and Princess of Wales’ striking crimson sofa with pink and white cushions.
According to Francesca, these statement pieces are perfect for royal enthusiasts looking to emulate Kate’s interior design.
Francesca advised selecting a statement piece as the focal point of the room.
A striking sofa or accent chair can set the tone for the rest of the space.
To create your own little palace, embrace a touch of extravagance.
The royal family has a penchant for rich textiles, colors, and designs.
Consider deep purples and royal blues to evoke a sense of grandeur.
However, Francesca emphasized that being bold doesn’t necessarily mean being garish.
Even plain cream and gray upholstery can make a statement when upholstered in luxurious materials like velvet and chenille.
In addition to maintaining the interior of their royal property, Kate and William also pay attention to its exterior.
Francesca stressed the importance of sprucing up your own garden.
The Waleses are known for spending time in nature, as evident from their photos.
Francesca claimed that other members of the royal family share this sentiment.
She mentioned King Charles Iuyi, who has dedicated significant effort to transforming the gardens surrounding Highgrove House into some of the most creative and inspiring in the nation.
Although your outdoor space may not be as grand, you can still create a tranquil retreat that reflects your values and aesthetic preferences.
Whether it’s a tiny zen garden, a rockery, or a quiet area where you can sit and unwind, take a brief break from the routine of everyday life.
Alternatively, if you have a spacious patio, consider furnishing it with roomy modular sofas to accommodate active families and provide ample space for entertaining.
By following these tips from Kate Middleton’s interior design choices, you can infuse a touch of royalty into your own home.
