Although it may appear like actress Jane Fonda has lived her life to the fullest throughout her decades in Hollywood, she recently said that she has one regret regarding her famous romances.

During her Hollywood heyday, the Barbarella star was renowned for a run of high-profile romances, but the soul man Martin Gaye is the one love interest that got away, and the actress regrets not sleeping with him.

During an interview with The New York Times, the actor and activist spoke up about her past romances, admitting that she regrets not accepting the offer from the soul great.

‘Your greatest regret is that you never had s-x with Che Guevara?’ Jane was questioned.

“No, I don’t think about him,” she replied.

She continued: “Who I do think about, and what is a great regret is Marvin Gaye.”

“He wanted to, and I didn’t,” she stated of her experience with Gaye.

Fonda added: “I was married to Tom [Hayden]. I was meeting a lot of performers to try to do concerts for Tom and the woman who was helping me do that introduced me to Marvin Gaye.”

When asked if Gaye’s pickup line included the words “s-xual healing”, Fonda jokingly admitted “I needed some but he didn’t say that, no.”

Fonda claims that the late Motown singer, who was known for songs like “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” put her picture on his refrigerator. She stated, “I didn’t find that out until later, after he was dead,” referring to the musician’s sad death in 1984.

After being shot twice by his father during an incident at their Los Angeles home, the soul singer died at the age of 44.

Jane, 82, was married three times: first to Roger Vadium from 1965 to 1973, then to Hayden from 1973 to 1990, and last to Ted Turner from 1991 to 2001.

In the 1966 film “The Chase,” the “Book Club” actress appeared to have remorse over having a s-xual experience with her co-star Marlon Brando.

Fonda described the encounter as “disappointing,” but she continued to think of Brando as a “great actor.”

Fonda, who is presently unmarried, has expressed her dissatisfaction with the lack of proposals she receives. Despite the fact that Fonda is single, she made it clear that she does not feel lonely.

“I don’t have time,” she said. “I am fully complete with me and my children and my grandchildren and my friends. I don’t want any more romance. I don’t have time for it.”
“I’m not lonely,” she added. “I’ve never been lonely. I’ve never been bored or lonely in my life.”

So, how has Fonda kept himself occupied throughout the present pandemic? She said, “Read. And between the fact that I’m alone plus the Covid, I’m discovering so much TV.”

Last year, the Monster In Law actress discussed how she transforms in a relationship and loses her individuality in an interview with British Vogue.

‘I’ve had several serious relationships after [Ted], but I can’t… That is my failing,’ she said.

‘I realise I can never overcome it. That when I’m with a man, I give up myself.

‘I didn’t think I’d ever ever live this long – or feel that I’m whole or getting whole. I feel very intentional about realising that it’s up to me how this last part of my life goes.’
