Inside Samantha Markle’s ‘tell all book’ about Meghan Markle
Samantha Markle, Meghan Markle’s sister, has finally published what she says is a tell-all book about her royal sister, the Duchess of Sussex.
The 330-page book by Ms Markle, 56, was released in the United States this week, and it delves into her troubled relationship with the Duchess of Sussex.
Meghan’s alleged treatment of her father, Thomas Markle, and other family is likely to be criticized in the book.
It includes chapters like “The Pushy Princess of Vista del Mar,” “Looking for Mr. Right, the Wrong Way,” and “The Queen Would Be Appalled,” which offer her take on how and why Meghan’s “Royal Fairy Tale” went bad. According to Newsweek, which released excerpts from the book on Wednesday 3 February, the Duchess of Sussex’s half-sister has revealed how she helped put up the false paparazzi photos that resulted in their father Thomas Markle’s absence from the Royal Wedding in 2018. The pictures at the heart of the spat between the Duchess and Mr Markle, 76, showed him preparing for the wedding in Mexico.
According to the Duchess’s older sister, the photoshoot was leaked to UK media, who accused them of “staging photographs.”

She also says she received no compensation for the deal.
Ms Markle, also known as Samantha Grant, wrote in an excerpt obtained by Newsweek: “I got a call from someone offering to connect me with a photographer friend by the name of Jeff [Rayner], who promised to discreetly take photographs of my father, putting him in an honest light, because other photographers had been so disparaging, intentionally.
“I received no money for the deal per my request, and the goal for my father was not money, because he had been turning down $50,000 interviews.
“It was just allowing the Royals and the world to see him in his proper light, because he was so horribly labelled and photographed.
“It was like watching vultures feast. The photographer said, ‘Don’t worry, I will take good care of your dad, and nobody will even see.'”
Samantha says she instructed the photographer to be ‘discreet’ and to keep at least 100 yards away from Thomas Markle. However, when CCTV images of where they set up the session at an internet café near his house in Rosarito, Mexico, surfaced, the photographer was plainly seen.
Ms Markle added: “When I saw some of the photographs, I was delighted, until I saw an article that said he ‘staged photographs.’
“I nearly choked, when I saw photographs of the photographer walking 3 feet behind my father, as seen on an Internet Cafe surveillance camera.
“I was guaranteed that he would not be visible, and I’m sure he knew that the camera was there on the ceiling, so I felt as though I had been baited, and so had my father.
“I was guaranteed it would be discreet, and then he publicly allowed himself to be seen walking 3 feet behind my father with the long lens camera, and furthermore, bragged about it on his Facebook page the following day.”
Samantha announced her book many years ago, but it has just recently been published.
The release of the book is sure to create concern for the Duchess, whose US media team has not commented publicly on its contents, despite reports that the former Suits actress broke into tears and was ‘sick to her stomach’ when she learned Samantha was writing it.
The 330-page autobiography promises to reveal “hidden truths about her family” as well as Samantha’s viewpoint on why Meghan’s connection with the Royals failed.
Samantha, on the other hand, speaks of her love for her younger half-sister as a newborn, describing the infant as ‘bi-racial, beautiful, and the color of a peach and a rose.’
She writes: ‘Our lives have not always been easy, and no one is perfect. We have, laughed, agreed, disagreed, and forgiven each other, which is what makes families so special.’
The back cover reads: “Things are not always as they seem, in a world where social labels and perceptions often define who we are, how we live, and how we view each other.
“With a B.A. in sociology, and an M.A. in counseling, Samantha never thought she would find herself caught in between the cross hairs of media mayhem, as she defends herself, and her father, by dispelling social labels, and “fake news”, when her sister marries a Duke, and a Royal fairy plummets from “the tea towels”.
According to the book’s press release, she says that when it comes to Meghan, “things are not always as they seem,” and that “truth is stranger than fiction” at times.
Samantha, 56, who suffers from multiple sclerosis and is wheelchair-bound, finished the much-anticipated book four years after declaring her intention to write it.
