In a surprising turn of events, UTA CEO Jeremy Zimmer has launched a scathing attack on Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex.

This verdict from the talent expert comes just over a week after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex ended their multi-million pound deal.

The couple had signed a lucrative agreement with Spotify in 2020, shortly after their departure from the royal family.

Jeremy Zimmer, who has guided stars like Damian Lewis and Benedict Cumberbatch, was on a media spree at Cannes when he was asked about the recent termination of a $20 million deal between Meghan, Prince Harry, and Spotify.

The deal resulted in the production of a single series called “Archetypes,” which was not renewed, leading to its cancellation being announced on June 15.

It seems that Meghan Markle did not possess the audio talent required for the project, or any kind of talent for that matter.

Zimmer emphasized that being famous does not automatically make one great at everything.

UTA represents renowned individuals such as Harrison Ford, Timothee Chalamet, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and director Wes Anderson, among others.

The criticism from Zimmer reached its peak on Monday when a newspaper reported that UTA had initially pursued Meghan as a potential client when she and Prince Harry first moved to Los Angeles.

However, Meghan eventually signed with WME, a major talent agency, in April.

The CEO faced continuous questions about Meghan and Spotify on the day of his Semaphore interview, coinciding with the global circulation of a comprehensive Wall Street Journal article about the duchess.

Since the split in mid-June, there has been relentless coverage of Meghan and Harry’s creative endeavors.

The couple’s audio projects have been met with disappointment, as highlighted by the headline of a recent article: “Harry and Meghan Produced a Hollywood Flop Themselves.”

This story delved into the struggles faced by the couple in developing their audio content and raised questions about the value that major media companies derive from investing millions in celebrity talent.

The Wall Street Journal also revealed that Meghan had written a personal letter, presumably in calligraphy, inviting Taylor Swift to appear on her podcast “Archetypes,” which ultimately failed to gain traction.

However, the rejection came from a representative rather than a personal note from Taylor herself, treating it as just another interview request among many.

Furthermore, sources suggest that Netflix is unlikely to renew its $100 million deal with the Sussexes.

Although the original agreement was expected to result in multiple TV series, only one was produced.

Allegedly, both Netflix and Spotify have been underwhelmed by the lack of productivity from the couple.

As the fallout continues, it remains to be seen how Meghan and Harry will navigate their future endeavors in the entertainment industry.

The recent criticisms and setbacks serve as a reminder that fame does not guarantee success, even for high-profile figures like the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
