Eva Green thought Harvey Weinstein was ‘a God’ before downfall

In a recent interview, the Dumbo actress Eva Green discussed her encounters with Harvey Weinstein.

The actress believed the movie mogul was “a god” when they first met, but she’s happy that he’s no longer in the spotlight after other individuals came forward to accuse him of wrongdoing. The actress is one of hundreds of women who have accused the disgraced producer of making unwelcome sexual advances on them.

She said: “He was like a god. He could make you, destroy you. You think, maybe something will change — I could win an Oscar!”

“So the first time you meet him you feel privileged. But what happened [to him] is a miracle. There is justice.”

“But you know, there are a***holes everywhere, in every field.”

The incident was made public in 2017, when Green’s mother, French actress Marlène Jobert, claimed that Weinstein had tried to physically assault her in a Paris hotel room.

‘She managed to escape, but he threatened to destroy her professionally,’ Jobert said.

Weinstein is scheduled to appear in court again on June 3 after posting the necessary $1 million bail. He is accused of raping, abusing, and engaging in other sexual activity with two victims.

Green previously discussed her claimed encounter with the disgraced film mogul in an interview with Variety, where she went into further detail about their meeting.

‘I met him for a business meeting in Paris at which he behaved inappropriately and I had to push him off. I got away without it going further, but the experience left me shocked and disgusted,’ she stated.

The 38-year-old actress was amused by the use of intimacy coaches to choreograph love scenes even though she is happy the scandal raised awareness of sexual harassment on film sets.

She remarked to ES magazine: “They have a coach for s=x scenes? I think that is quite funny.”

Eva does believe that the scenes should be “clinical,” though.

She added: “But I believe the way to kill the fear of the sex scene is to rehearse it like a dance or a fight. So clinically you say, you do this, you grab my hand, you do that, rather than get carried away by passion.”

The actress said of her decision to relocate to London: “I wanted to be my own person and go to another country. I loved London — I studied there [at Webber Douglas drama academy] before I moved there — and I bought a little at in Primrose Hill, my agent looked after me and I began to make friends. I can’t say Paris is ugly but it lacks trees and London has that village feel. People are less judgemental in London and I love the British sense of humour.”

With regard to having her own family, she says, “I don’t know. You need to find the right person. And I hate planning. In three months I might be on a job. Or I might be dead tomorrow.”
