The Queen Shows Support for Prince Harry & Meghan Markle with Sweet Photo
In the midst of the royal family conflict, there is one person in the palace who is taking the higher ground: Queen Elizabeth. Instead of playing media games, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are receiving discreet backing from the Queen, which is likely why the pair maintains their relationship with her.
This week, fresh photos surfaced that many think are a show of support for Harry and Meghan.
During a meeting with Prime Minister Boris Johnson, the Queen discreetly showed everyone a peek of her personal photographs at Buckingham Palace, according to various sources. Among the framed photos was a never-before-seen shot from Meghan and Harry’s 2017 engagement shoot, according to Us Weekly. Also included in the picture montage? A photograph of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s engagement, as well as a photograph of the Queen and her late husband, Prince Philip.

Though the Sussexes have publicly expressed their dissatisfaction with the royal institution, neither Harry nor Meghan has ever expressed dissatisfaction with the queen herself.
Despite the fact that the conflict seems to be focused on Harry and Prince William (as well as a “shell-shocked” Prince Charles), it’s wonderful to see the Queen keep her grandson close to her in her own manner. It serves as a reminder to everyone that he and Meghan are still valued members of the royal family, at least in the eyes of Queen Elizabeth.
In fact, the royal couple has shown their devotion and appreciation to the 95-year-old monarch in recent weeks by naming their newborn daughter Lilibet after the queen’s family nickname.
A royal official revealed to BAZAAR.com earlier this month that the queen was aware of the couple’s intention to name their first daughter after her and granted them permission to do so.
As a reminder, Prince Harry is set to meet with his grandmother once again when he travels into the UK for the installation of Princess Diana’s monument at Kensington Palace. The Queen is allegedly inviting Harry to lunch at Windsor Castle during his visit, and royal biographer Ingrid Seward told Vanity Fair that “she does not like confrontation,” so the meeting should be low-key. Meghan will not be present at the lunch since she is staying at home in California with the couple’s children. “Meghan has just had a baby and has no plans to travel to London for the memorial event planned for the statue unveiling in the Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace,” a source previously revealed to Entertainment Tonight.
