The Duchess of Sussex is believed to be “upset” that no members of the royal family have contacted her since the explosive Oprah interview aired.

When she sat down with the TV icon earlier this month, the Duchess of Sussex made accusations of racism within the family and said she wasn’t permitted to obtain care for her mental health as a working royal.

On CBS This Morning, Oprah’s closest friend Gayle King, who is also close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, claimed she spoke with Prince Harry and Meghan, and verified that Harry had talked with Prince William and Prince Charles.

According to Meghan’s friend Gayle King, no one from the royal family has reached out to her.

“I did actually call them to see how they were feeling, and it’s true, Harry has talked to his brother and he has talked to his father too,” Gayle said. “The word I was given was that those conversations were not productive. But they are glad that they have at least started a conversation. And I think what is still upsetting to them is the palace keeps saying they want to work it out privately, but yet they believe these false stories are coming out that are very disparaging against Meghan, still.”

Meghan said in the interview, which aired last week, that she had “methodical” thoughts about suicide while in the royal family, but that she was denied treatment after addressing top palace employees.

The former Suits star also said that there were “concerns” voiced during her pregnancy about “how dark” her and Prince Harry’s baby’s complexion may be.

Gayle also stated that the reports that have been released following the interview have been “upsetting” to Meghan and Harry.

Gayle remarked on her CBS show This Morning, “No one in the royal family has spoken to Meghan yet.”

“I think what is still upsetting to them is that the Palace keeps saying they want to work it out privately but yet they release these false stories that are coming out that are very disparaging against Meghan still.

“And I think it’s frustrating to them to see that it’s a racial conversation about the royal family when all they wanted all along was for the royals to intervene and tell the press to stop with the unfair, inaccurate, false stories that definitely have a racial slant.

“And until you can acknowledge that, I think it’s going to be hard to move forward. But they both want to move forward with this, at the end of the day it’s Harry’s family.”

During the conversation, Prince Harry stated that his father had cut him off financially and had even stopped answering his phone calls at one time. The Duke of Sussex stated that he felt “let down” by Prince Charles and that the family had decreased his security when he and Meghan stood down from important royal positions. He also stated that he and Prince William were having space in their relationship, but that “time heals all things, hopefully.”

In response to the interview, Buckingham Palace issued a statement on the Queen’s behalf, stating that the entire family was “saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan” and that the issues raised would be “addressed privately by the family.”

The remarks come after Prince William stated that the royal family is “very much not a racist family” during a visit to an East London school.

Gayle commended Meghan and said anybody who has worked with her knows she’s a “sweet caring person” when speaking more broadly about the fallout from the interview.

Meghan, she claims, “has documents” to back up what she claimed in her interview.
