Meghan Markle’s talent has been called into question by talent agency UTA’s chief, Jeremy Zimmer, during a recent interview.

This comes after Spotify abruptly ended its deal with the Duchess of Sussex and her husband, Prince Harry, following the cancellation of Markle’s podcast “Archewell Audio” after just one season.

Zimmer stated in an interview with global news site Semaphore, “Turns out Meghan Markle was not an extraordinary sound talent, or essentially any sort of talent.”

He further added, “Just because you’re famous doesn’t make you great at something.”

Representatives for Markle did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.

Zimmer, who co-founded UTA in 1991, has represented numerous high-profile clients including Mariah Carey, Anthony Hopkins, Kevin Hart, Chelsea Handler, Brian Cranston, and M. Night Shyamalan.

UTA, one of the top three Hollywood agencies along with Creative Artists Agency (CAA) and William Morris Endeavor (WME), has facilitated podcast deals for clients such as Director, Will Ferrell, and Seth Rogen.

Markle, known for her role on the USA Network show “Suits” from 2011 to 2018, signed with WME in April.

In December 2020, Harry and Meghan signed a long-term podcasting deal worth approximately $20 million with Spotify.

Through their production company, Archewell Audio, the couple released “Archewell Audio,” which was hosted by Markle and debuted in August 2022.

The 12-episode podcast became an instant hit, topping the Spotify charts in seven countries, including the US and UK.

The podcast featured interviews with guests such as Serena Williams, Mariah Carey, and Paris Hilton, and also won the podcast award at the 2022 People’s Choice Awards.

Recently, Spotify and Archewell Audio announced in a joint statement that they had decided to end their partnership.

The statement sent to Fox Business read, “Spotify and Archewell Audio have mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we created together.”

The dissolution of the partnership followed the news that “Archewell Audio” had not been renewed for a second season.

Despite this setback, a representative for WME assured, “Meghan is continuing to develop more content for the originals audience on another platform.”

However, it seems that Archewell Audio will not receive the full $20 million payout as the couple’s company did not produce enough content to fulfill the terms of the contract with Spotify.

There were also reports suggesting that Markle had contributed little to the production of “Archewell Audio,” which was seemingly confirmed by senior Spotify podcast manager Bill Simmons during a recent episode of his own podcast.

Simmons referred to both Markle and Prince Harry as “frauds” and mentioned an incident during a Zoom call where they supposedly brainstormed podcast ideas.

Jeremy Zimmer, the CEO of talent agency UTA, has sparked a debate by criticizing Meghan Markle’s talent following the termination of her $20 million deal with Spotify.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s partnership with Spotify was terminated after just one season of Markle’s podcast, “Archewell Audio.”

The announcement was made on June 15th.

Now, the president of one of Hollywood’s top talent agencies has accused the Duchess in a new interview with Semaphore, stating, “Turns out Meghan Markle was not an extraordinary sound talent, or fundamentally any sort of talent.”

Zimmer added, “Just because you’re famous doesn’t make you great at something.”

The end of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s partnership with Spotify was confirmed in a statement from Archewell Audio.

The statement read, “Spotify and Archewell Audio have mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we created together.”

It was reported that the couple did not meet the productivity benchmarks required to receive the full payout agreed upon in their $20 million deal, according to the Money Row Diary.

Harry and Meghan’s shortcomings as producers affected their business ventures into podcasting.
