Meghan revealed some insights about her relationship with her father and half-sister Samantha during a recent interview with American talk show host Oprah Winfrey, claiming that she doesn’t know Samantha very well and hadn’t seen her in several years.

Samantha Markle has publicly chastised Meghan since her relationship with the Duke of Sussex became known, and she has written a book titled The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister Part 1.

The Duchess of Sussex said of her half-sister’s book, “I think it would be very hard to tell all when you don’t know me.”

“This is a very different situation than my dad, when we talk about betrayal, betrayal comes from someone you have a relationship with,” Meghan explained.

“I don’t feel comfortable talking about people that I really don’t know but I grew up as an only child, which everyone who grew up around me knows, and I wished I had siblings, I would have loved to have had siblings.”

“The last time I saw her (Samantha) must have been at least 18 or 19 years ago, and then before that, 10 years before that,” she said.

She described them as “not close,” adding, “She changed her last name back to Markle, she was in her early 50s at that time, only when I started dating Harry, so I think that says enough.”

Samantha then went on and refuted the accusations with evidence to back her up.

“I don’t know how she can say I don’t know her and she was an only child. We’ve got photographs over a lifespan of us together so how can she not know me?,” she said in an interview.

Samantha presented photographs of the two of them together at various periods of their upbringings, including one from Samantha’s college graduation in 2008, according to Fox News, contradicting Meghan’s assertion that they hadn’t seen each other in over two decades.

Samantha presented evidence that her name has been Markle for much longer, including a 1997 petition for name change and a college diploma that plainly shows her name as Markle.

Samantha explained, “I was a Markle before she was. I thought that was kind of weird that she’d say I only changed my name back when she met Harry. Markle’s always been my name .”

Samantha wrapped up her criticism of her half sister’s interview by addressing the shocking claim that Meghan had suicide thoughts while serving as a senior member of the royal family. She told Inside Edition that she had “no sympathy” for Meghan.

“Depression is not an excuse for treating people like dishrags and disposing of them,” she added, presumably referring to both herself and her father, Thomas Markle, who has a tangled relationship with the Duchess of Sussex.

Meghan Markle is unconcerned about what her sister Samantha has said about the Duchess of Sussex’s marriage to Prince Harry, according to new reports.

According to a source at new! magazine: “Meghan doesn’t care about what Samantha says. She truly tries to rise above it and not let it bother her, as they haven’t had a relationship for years.”

The insider went on to say: “Meghan doesn’t read or pay attention to anything her father or half-sister says to the press, nor does her team.

“Meghan was understandably devastated when her father began giving interviews and their relationship has clearly suffered.

“But she has learnt to rise above the comments. She has to.”

Meghan is said to believe their relationship is irreparably damaged.

According to the source: “Too much has been said and Meghan wants to focus on the future rather than dell on the past. It’s all been very hard.”
