Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, found herself at the center of a joke on the popular BBC show Have I Got News For You.

Clive Myrie, the host of the show, made a witty remark about Meghan’s recent legal victory against the Mail on Sunday.

Joined by Miles Chupp and Camilla Long, as well as regulars Ian Hislop and Paul Merton, Clive entertained viewers with his sharp humor.

During the segment “Looking Back at the Week That Just Happened,” the panelists delved into Meghan’s court battle against the Mail on Sunday.

As a picture of the Duchess of Sussex appeared, the teams had to guess the news story.

Camilla correctly identified it as Meghan’s triumph in the case, where the court ruled in her favor, stating that the publication had wrongfully printed parts of a letter she had sent to her father.

Clive acknowledged Camilla’s observation, confirming that the three judges, including Lord Justice, had indeed ruled in Meghan’s favor.

They emphasized that the contents of the letter were personal and private, lacking any legitimate public interest.

He further quipped that Meghan’s victory meant she could continue to protect her privacy, albeit ironically.

While Meghan became the subject of humor on the show, the panelists also discussed the new Omicron Covid variant.

In other news, royal expert Katie Nicholl revealed that Prince William and Kate Middleton plan to send Christmas gifts to Archie and Lilibet, despite their strained relationship with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

As the Duke and Duchess of Sussex spend the festive season in California, Prince William and Kate Middleton will celebrate Christmas at Sandringham with the Queen.

Katie Nicholl shared that the royal couple aims to maintain their Christmas traditions and will extend their generosity to all their nieces and nephews, including Archie and Lilibet.

However, it should be noted that William and Kate have yet to meet baby Lilibet, who was born in July.

Interestingly, Prince Harry previously mentioned that the Queen had gifted Archie a waffle maker for Christmas in 2020.

During an appearance on James Corden’s The Late Late Show, he revealed that Meghan had requested the waffle maker as Archie loved homemade waffles.

This year, the Queen is eagerly looking forward to her traditional family Christmas at Sandringham, joined by Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Edward, Sophie Wessex, and their respective families.

Speculation arose regarding Harry and Meghan’s attendance at the family gathering, considering it would be the Queen’s first Christmas without her late husband, Prince Philip.

However, a source informed Page Six that the couple would not be present, stating that the logistics and planning were already underway, and no communication had been received from Harry and Meghan about their attendance.

As the holiday season approaches, it seems Meghan Markle’s legal victory has inadvertently become a punchline on a popular UK show.

Despite the jests, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge remain committed to upholding their Christmas traditions and extending their goodwill to the entire family.

While the Queen eagerly anticipates the festivities, it will undoubtedly be a bittersweet occasion, marking her first Christmas without Prince Philip.
