How Meghan Markle left the UK after Megxit announcement
NBC News revealed Friday that Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, had departed the United Kingdom for Canada less than two days after she and Prince Harry announced that they would “step back” from their responsibilities as senior members of the royal family.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry spent Christmas in Canada with their son Archie.
The pair took a break from royal responsibilities and spent six weeks on Vancouver Island, locked up in a multi-million dollar mansion. They are said to have requested neighbors to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) regarding their presence, and security was engaged to guarantee no prying eyes were there.
According to NBC News, Harry has stayed in the United Kingdom to host the Rugby League World Cup 2021 draw from Buckingham Palace on Thursday, which will be his first big public appearance since the scandal broke.
The Queen from Sandringham, Charles from Scotland, and William from Kensington Palace are said to be in discussions right now. It was most certainly an unpleasant diversion from William’s wife, the Duchess of Cambridge, who celebrated her 38th birthday yesterday.

According to a statement on their new website, Harry and Meghan said on Wednesday that they planned to spend their time between the United Kingdom and North America, while “continuing to honor our duty to the queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages.”
According to palace insiders, Prince Harry and Meghan did not contact any other royals before issuing their personal statement, according to BBC royal journalist Jonny Dymond.
They claim they want to maintain their freshly restored home in Windsor, as well as their royal protection and security, but they plan to change their attitude to the British press in light of the couple’s harsh coverage – particularly Meghan’s.
They noted that the decision occurred “after many months of reflection and internal discussions”
#Megxit, the couple’s choice to live a more independent life, has sparked outrage among British tabloids, royalists, and commentators.
The couple’s statement was reported to have “hurt” the Royal Family.
The announcement comes after a dreadful year for the Windsors, nicknamed the Queen’s second annus horribilis. The Sussexes were more embroiled in the news, while the Queen’s second (and reputed favorite) son, Prince Andrew, plummeted from grace after his association with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein was exposed.
