Harry and William insist on giving ‘separate speeches at Diana’s statue unveiling’
According to a source, Prince William and Prince Harry have “insisted” on making separate remarks at the installation of a monument of Princess Diana, raising fears that they will not be putting up a “united front.”
William, 39, and Harry, 36, will be there to support each other when Diana’s monument is unveiled in July.
There had been optimism that the brothers meeting for the statue’s presentation would help heal a schism caused by Harry and Meghan Markle’s dramatic two-hour CBS interview with Oprah Winfrey.
According to a source, “They will both move heaven and earth to be there. They commissioned the statue together. It is very important for them.
“There is, of course, hope the memory of Diana can repair their relationship but that seems a long way off right now.

Hopes of better ties were heightened when they conversed after Prince Philip’s funeral last month, but royal advisers have since downplayed any healing between the two, with the conversations believed to be mainly superficial.
“The brothers will be physically together for the ceremony but want to make their own personal addresses.
“You might have thought they’d go for a joint statement and speech but that’s not the case. Each has insisted on preparing their own.
The move has allegedly prompted worries that it would seem as though the brothers were unable to reach an agreement.
“It is a big concern that their body language will suggest all is not well and they won’t present a united front.”
It comes as royal analyst Russell Myers questioned if Harry would go to the United Kingdom for the event.
Tom Bradby, an ITV journalist who has known both princes for years, said on Saturday that their relationship had “slowly descended into something that was difficult – personally and publicly – really over the past year and a half”
Meghan, 39, is expected to remain in the United States, and the Queen is unlikely to attend.
According to another insider, “she feels this is William and Harry’s event and would not want to overshadow them.”
In 2017, the brothers chose to put a statue of their mother in Kensington Palace’s White Garden as a memorial to the late princess.
The sculptor of the statue, Ian Rank-Broadley, is most known for his portrayal of the Queen, which has featured on all UK and Commonwealth coins since 1998.
