Dax Shepard Reveals Anna Kendrick Made Kristen Bell ‘Jealous’

Dax Shepard, the actor best known for his role on the TV show Parenthood, recently made a surprising revelation on his podcast, Armchair Expert.

He told guest Anna Kendrick that in the 15 years he has known his wife, Kristen Bell, Anna is the only person to have ever made her feel jealous.

“She has only had jealousy over a single human, and it’s been you,” Dax revealed to Anna on the Jan. 9 episode of his podcast.

“I’d never seen it. It blew my mind.”

Dax went on to explain that Kristen had been impressed by Anna’s singing abilities and had lost some roles to her, but now has nothing but positive feelings towards Anna.

    “Kristen was like, ‘Who is this other short person?'” Dax recalled. “‘Oh, she can sing like that too? I’m already here. We got another one.'”

    Despite this past feeling of jealousy, Dax emphasized that Kristen is generally a very kind and benevolent person.

    “I wanna preface it by that—in the 15 years I’ve known Kristen, she’s had nothing but benevolence for everyone,” he said.

    Anna responded to Dax’s revelation by admitting that she had always felt that Kristen “never really liked me.”

    She went on to explain that she had assumed that sweet and angelic blonde girls like Kristen wouldn’t like her because she considered herself “weird” and “rough around the edges.”

    “But I do think a massive percentage of that is just genuinely when it comes to really sweet angelic blonde girls,” Anna explained.

    “I just assumed they think I am weird, they think I am like this weird little troll. And I don’t think of Kristen as short, I think of her as just an angel, and she’s so sweet.”

    “And I feel so rough around the edges that I was like, ‘Oh, she must not like me.’ I am sure that’s just my projections, that’s not actually how she feels.”

    Despite Anna’s assumptions, Dax clarified that there was no bad blood between the two women.

    “I have to be ultra clear with you: She never disliked you.” He also mentioned that his wife gave him permission to share the story on the podcast.

    Anna also shared that she had been debating whether or not to tell Dax her feelings about Kristen, but ultimately decided to be honest.

    “Maybe there was just some energetic thing there,” she said.

    “In all likelyhood there wasn’t and it was just my typical thing of certain women who look a certain way scare me and I just assume that they won’t like me.”
