The Fifty Shades trilogy might not have been critically acclaimed, but it did wonders for the careers of its lead actors, Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan.

Despite the financial success, there were several scenes in the movie that made the actors uncomfortable.

And for Johnson, one particular moment stood out as the most challenging in the entire trilogy.

For Johnson, getting the part of Anastasia Steele in the Fifty Shades franchise was a dream come true.

She believes that at their core, the films are romantic stories, which explains their massive fan base.

    Even though she understood the story’s essence, she had doubts when taking on the role.

    She sought advice from her longtime friend Emily Blunt, who encouraged her to follow her heart.

    However, even with Emily’s encouragement, Johnson had some reservations about the role.

    Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, she said, “I was cast, and I remember I spoke to Emily Blunt, and I was like, ‘Should I do this trilogy?

    Because I want to have a really special career, and I want to make a certain kind of film.

    And I know that this is going to change things.’ She was like, ‘F****** do it if it feels right.

    Just do it.

    Always do what you want to do.’”

    Despite her reservations, Johnson doesn’t regret taking on the role.

    She believes the films haven’t limited her career options in any way.

    In an interview with Marie Claire, she revealed that no matter how prepared or rehearsed she was, the intimate scenes never got easy.

    But perhaps the most difficult scene for Johnson was in the franchise’s final film, Fifty Shades Freed.

    In the scene, Johnson was handcuffed with her arms and legs to a fence while blindfolded.

    The extreme nature of the scene left Johnson in a vulnerable state that surprised her.

    She revealed, “It was kind of shocking because I didn’t realize that when your senses are taken away like that, you can’t control the way your nervous system will react.

    So it was really tricky to navigate that scene.

    It was kind of difficult.”

    Apart from the uncomfortable intimate scenes, Johnson found herself having to wear clothes in a way she never had before.

    She had to superglue thongs to her body.

    “They’re, like, basically if it were a n^pp|e pastie but underwear.

    But it’s only sticky at the top; it’s not sticky the whole way,” Johnson explained.

    “It would also come off because the adhesive would wear out, so then they would superglue it to my body so that it wouldn’t fall off.

    And I would wear two of them.

    It’s not painful; I mean, it’s barely anything.

    But I guess you have some sense of being covered.

    It’s f*cking bizarre.”

    Despite the challenges, Johnson is grateful for her involvement in the Fifty Shades trilogy.

    She believes that the films allowed her to explore different aspects of herself as an actress.

    She also thinks that the films’ success is due to the incredible love story that they tell.

    In her words, “I think it’s an incredible love story and that’s why it’s affected so many people.

    Erica (EL James) did a really good job of explaining how that just can happen sometimes and you have this chemical pull to someone.

    Adding in the s** makes it perfect.

    Sometimes you feel a little bit naughty, and that’s okay.”

    In conclusion, it’s clear that the Fifty Shades trilogy was not without its challenges for Dakota Johnson.

    However, despite the difficulties, she is proud of her work in the franchise.

    The films’ success may have surprised many, but their incredible love story touched millions.
