Amber Heard announces birth of baby girl: ‘The beginning of the rest of my life’
Amber Heard recently announced that she had her first child via surrogacy earlier this year.
The actress, 35, is celebrating her daughter months after ex-husband Johnny Depp’s libel lawsuit against her was dropped.
On Thursday, the “Aquaman” actress revealed on Instagram that she gave birth to a baby girl, Oonagh Paige Heard, on her “own terms” on April 8 this year.
Heard, 35, captioned a picture of herself cuddling her kid in bed with, “I’m so excited to share this news with you.” “Four years ago, I decided I wanted to have a child. I wanted to do it on my own terms. I now appreciate how radical it is for us as women to think about one of the most fundamental parts of our destinies in this way.”
She wrote. “I hope we arrive at a point in which it’s normalized to not want a ring in order to have a crib.”

Adding: “A part of me wants to uphold that my private life is none of anyone’s business. I also get that the nature of my job compels me to take control of this.”
“My daughter was born on April 8, 2021. Her name is Oonagh Paige Heard. She’s the beginning of the rest of my life.”
Friends reported Heard was informed she would never be able to have her own child.
Oonagh is a Greek, Scottish, and Irish name that meaning “pure” or “holy.”
Heard’s statement comes months after her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, was denied permission to appeal a judge’s decision that he attacked her. From 2015 until 2017, Depp and Heard were married.
Depp lost his appeal to overturn a High Court decision that found he beat his ex-wife Heard and put her in “fear for her life” earlier this year.
The judges, James Dingemans and Nicholas Underhill, stated the previous court hearing was “full and fair” and that the trial judge’s findings “have not been shown even arguably to be vitiated by any error of approach or mistake of law.””
Depp allegedly attacked Heard on a dozen occasions, putting her in “fear for her life” three times, according to the judge. He also shot down Depp’s claim that Heard was a “gold digger.”
Heard has been dating cinematographer Bianca Butti since January 2020. However, a source told Page Six that the actress decided to have a kid on her own before meeting her partner, and that she is Oonagh’s only legal parent. According to a pal, the actress is “beyond in love” with her baby daughter, “Oonagh is absolutely gorgeous, and Amber is besotted. She always knew that she wanted to be a mom, and this is her greatest wish come true. She’s so grateful to the wonderful woman who helped bring Oonagh into her life.” They added, “The most important thing for Amber is that she’s open about Oonagh’s birth. There are so many women who feel they can’t talk about their fertility and are worried and embarrassed; Amber wants them to feel supported and realize that there are a multitude of ways to have a baby even if you have fertility issues.”
Next up for the activist is “Aquaman 2,” in which she will portray Atlantean princess Mera alongside Jason Momoa in the title role.
