Tearful Countess of Wessex Praises Queen’s Strength and Support as She Begins Life Without Prince Philip
The royal family is mourning the loss of Prince Philip, who served as the Queen’s pillar of strength throughout their 73-year marriage and her 68-year reign.
The Countess of Wessex, Sophie, emotionally expressed her gratitude to the media, stating that the Queen has been amazing during this difficult time.
On Saturday morning, Prince Edward and Sophie arrived at Windsor Castle in a blue Land Rover Discovery.
They spent approximately an hour with the Queen before departing through a crowd of well-wishers.
As they drove away, Sophie had tears in her eyes and shared her admiration for her mother-in-law, describing her as truly remarkable.

Sky News’ Royal Correspondent, Rhiannon Mills, reported the emotional scene outside Windsor Castle.
She tweeted that the Earl and Countess of Wessex drove past the crowds, with Sophie visibly moved and expressing her appreciation for the Queen’s support.
Prince Edward, the youngest child of the Queen and Prince Philip, was the first to arrive at Windsor Castle to offer his support.
He made the short journey from his home in Surrey.
Prince Andrew, who resides within the castle grounds, also arrived at 10 am.
Prince Charles stayed with the Queen until late into the night.
According to the Daily Telegraph, the Queen was by Prince Philip’s side when he peacefully passed away on Thursday morning at Windsor Castle.
This devastating loss has left the monarch heartbroken.
Engagements have been canceled as she mourns the loss of her beloved husband.
A Royal insider, speaking to Closer Weekly, revealed that the Queen is absolutely devastated.
The source stated that despite Philip’s declining health over the past few months, his passing still came as a shock.
The Queen has been in contact with her four children, Prince Charles, Prince William, Princess Anne, and Prince Andrew, as well as her grandson, Prince Harry, who are all deeply saddened by the loss.
Prince Andrew was the first of the Queen’s sons to console her at the castle, followed by Prince Edward and then Prince Charles.
The family came together to support one another during this difficult time.
Prince Charles, despite their occasionally strained relationship, had been in regular contact with his father and expressed everything that needed to be said.
He was the only family member able to visit Prince Philip in the hospital and had recently spent time with him at Windsor.
Friends of the royal family have spoken out about the strong bond between Prince Charles and Prince Philip.
They emphasized the genuine love, affection, and understanding that existed between them, dispelling any notion of a strained relationship.
It is important to remember this amidst the media coverage surrounding the loss.
Prince Philip’s passing, just short of his 100th birthday, came as a surprise to many, including the royal staff who believed he was still strong.
Despite his ill health, there was a sense that the Iron Duke would make it to his milestone birthday.
Sadly, it was not meant to be.
The loss of Prince Philip has left a void within the royal family.
As they mourn his passing, they will continue to support one another and cherish the memories of a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
