Royal Rivalry: The Battle of Dresses between Meghan and Kate
A clash of fashion choices has erupted between the duchesses of Sussex and Cambridge, revealing simmering tensions within the royal family.
While the representatives of the royal family adhere to a strict dress code and face numerous restrictions when it comes to expressing their true feelings, keen observers have managed to decipher hidden messages through their clothing selections.
When Meghan and Harry first announced their engagement, it was reported that Meghan and Kate made an effort to bond, spending time together and displaying a friendly demeanor.
They even coordinated their outfits for joint events, aiming to complement each other’s style.
However, this camaraderie was short-lived as the battle of dresses ensued.

A source close to the royal office revealed that the conflict between the duchesses reached its peak at the christening of Kate and William’s son, Louis, in the summer of 2018.
Traditionally, this joyous occasion called for a joint photo of the royal family, symbolizing harmony and love through a matching blue-white color scheme.
To ensure coordination, the managers of the Cambridge couple contacted Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, providing them with the dress code guidelines for the event.
However, Meghan had a different idea.
She requested that Kate refrain from dictating her outfit choices, emphasizing that her style was a personal matter and not open to recommendations.
It appears that the Duchess of Sussex interpreted the dress code request as pressure and criticism, possibly due to previous complaints regarding her attire.
Consequently, Meghan opted for an olive-colored dress, deliberately deviating from the prescribed color scheme.
On the other hand, Prince Harry complied with the dress code, donning a blue tie, aligning himself with the rest of the male members of the family.
While Kate did not engage in a direct confrontation on the day of the christening, Meghan’s defiance clearly upset her.
As an act of retaliation, Kate sought her revenge in an elegant manner.
For Archie’s christening, she chose a vibrant outfit, a knee-length dress paired with a crimson head accessory.
