Batman is arguably the most popular superhero of all time in the world of comic books. As a result, Bruce Wayne has been adapted for cinema several times throughout the years, the most recent of which was Ben Affleck’s stint in the DCEU. Robert Pattinson will play the next live-action Batman in Matt Reeves’ The Batman, and the Twilight star has big shoes to fill. Pattinson recently stated why he isn’t worried about being the latest actor to don Batman’s cape.

Anyone playing the caped crusader is quite unlikely to win an Academy Award. Despite the remarkable enduring popularity of Bruce Wayne’s dual role as Gotham’s dark knight, the idea of honoring someone for being exceptionally good at dressing up as a giant bat to scare criminals has about as much chance of gaining traction with the Academy as Uwe Boll’s comeback to win best film.

The Batman, the latest installment, will introduce fans to a new Dark Knight. However, there are little specifics regarding the storyline of this version of the DC film, but there have been enough theories about how it would vary from prior incarnations.

Batman, DC’s renowned hero, has appeared in a number of genres throughout the years, including animation, video games, and live-action films. As a result, many actors have played Batman throughout the years, and Robert will undoubtedly be compared to his predecessors such as Ben Affleck. But, as the 33-year-old actor recently stated, it doesn’t appear to bother him:

“And then I was thinking, it’s fun when more and more ground has been covered. Like, where is the gap? You’ve seen this sort of lighter version, you’ve seen a kind of jaded version, a kind of more animalistic version. And the puzzle of it becomes quite satisfying, to think: Where’s my opening? And also, do I have anything inside me which would work if I could do it? And then also, it’s a legacy part, right? I like that. There’s so few things in life where people passionately care about it before it’s even happened. You can almost feel that pushback of anticipation, and so it kind of energizes you a little bit. It’s different from when you’re doing a part and there’s a possibility that no one will even see it. Right? In some ways it’s, I don’t know… It makes you a little kind of spicy.”

But this isn’t to say that the pressure isn’t on when it comes to playing Batman. Put on the cape and cowl, and audiences and reviewers will be talking about your performance for the next three decades, as Val Kilmer and George Clooney have discovered to their detriment. In the age of on-demand streaming video, Twitter, and the fanboy blogosphere, there is no such thing as a low-paying job for a forgotten film.

It’s evident that Robert Pattinson is unconcerned about being compared to Ben Affleck or Christian Bale’s interpretations of Batman since he sees it as a fantastic opportunity. However, owing to the Coronavirus epidemic, the film’s production has been paused for the time being, and it will resume once things have returned to normal. But only time will tell what DC fans might expect from “Battinson”

The statements of Robert Pattinson to GQ shed light on his perspective and approach to The Batman. Matt Reeves’ solo film follows Ben Affleck’s portrayal of the role by only a few years. Furthermore, the Dark Knight Trilogy by Christopher Nolan is still fresh in people’s thoughts. Pattinson, on the other hand, is ecstatic to have discovered a new method to bring that same character to life.

Given Batman’s long history on the page, there have been many different renditions of him over the years. As a result, a number of performers have already taken on the role of Gotham’s Protector on the big screen. Michael Keaton, George Clooney, and Val Kilmer starred in the original film franchise. Plus, there’s always Adam West’s legendary 1960s run.
