Princess Charlotte Could Wear a Tiara on Her Wedding Day

Princess Charlotte, at the tender age of 7, has yet to experience the elegance of wearing a regal tiara.

However, there is a possibility that fans might witness Princess Charlotte adorned with a tiara for the first time on her wedding day.

While there are no official guidelines, it has been observed that most royal women, such as Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, had to wait until their wedding ceremonies to wear a diadem.

This tradition might have been followed because neither Middleton nor Markle inherited their royal titles.

In contrast, Princess Eugenie, who was born into the royal family, did not wear a tiara until her marriage to Jack Brooksbank in October 2018.

Similarly, her older sister, Princess Beatrice, also waited until her wedding day in July 2020 to wear a tiara.

Princess Charlotte may choose to follow in their footsteps and postpone wearing a tiara until her own wedding day.

However, it is worth noting that Charlotte differs from the older princesses as the Yorks are not employed by the royal family.

The young princess, being only 7 years old, might take inspiration from Princess Anne and Princess Margaret, the late Queen’s sisters, who both wore tiaras before getting married.

Princess Anne, the only daughter of the late monarch, wore a tiara for the first time at the age of 17, and again for a photo shoot commemorating her 21st birthday.

It is possible that Charlotte could adopt this tradition and choose to wear her first tiara for a special event, such as her 18th or 21st birthday.

While Anne and Margaret wore tiaras in their roles as working royals, Charlotte is expected to represent her grandfather, King Charles, and father, Prince William, at royal events as she grows older.

However, it is unlikely that Charlotte will wear a tiara before her wedding, as tiaras are typically reserved for state dinners and formal occasions.

The anticipation surrounding the tiara Charlotte will choose for her debut is palpable among royal enthusiasts.

The Cartier Halo Tiara is currently the frontrunner, having been worn by both Princess Margaret and Princess Anne in their younger years.

Notably, Charlotte’s mother, Kate, made a stunning impression when she wore the tiara for her 2011 wedding to Prince William.

In a conversation with Claire Beetson, the general manager of ethical jeweler Nightingale, Express.co.uk explored the possibility of Charlotte or Lilibet, Princess Diana’s granddaughter, wearing the Spencer Tiara, which was worn by Princess Diana herself on her wedding day.

Beetson shared her vision, stating, “I envision the Spencer Tiara being worn by Charlotte or Lilibet to honor their grandmother.”

Given Prince Harry’s close ties with Diana’s family, it is more likely that Lilibet will have the privilege of wearing the Spencer family tiara.
