According to royal author Tom Quinn, there are striking similarities between the bond shared by Princess Charlotte and Prince George and that of Princess Anne and King Charles.

In his recently published book, Gilded Youth, Quinn compares Princess Charlotte’s demeanor to that of Princess Anne, noting their confidence and grounded nature.

Quinn suggests that Princess Charlotte, the only child of the Prince and Princess of Wales, may follow in the footsteps of the Princess Royal and take on a similar role for the Crown and the King.

He explains that Princess Anne has always been supportive of Charles and has never really struggled.

In contrast, Charles, being pressured to fulfill his future role as king from a young age, possesses a less resilient personality than his sister.

Quinn anticipates that the younger generation, including Charlotte, who is about to turn eight, may experience a similar dynamic.

He observes that Charlotte already displays a strong personality reminiscent of her great-aunt Anne.

“I believe she appears more certain of herself, more centered, more grounded than Prince George,” Quinn remarks.

Prince George, who is second in line to the throne, is said to carry the burden of the crown on his shoulders, according to the author.

At nine years old, George is already aware of his future role, having participated in events and photographs typically reserved for those directly in line for the throne.

Katie Nicole, author of Royal, reveals that Kate and William have taken steps to ensure George understands his future position without feeling overwhelmed.

They have discussed his future role in a way that he can comprehend, while still allowing him to enjoy as normal a childhood as possible.

Quinn acknowledges the pressure George faces, stating, “George will feel that he has a function and that he’s extremely important.

That indicates some pressure, which is the downside.”

However, he believes that Charlotte, with her sensible nature, will provide valuable support to her older brother without envying his position or being in the spotlight.

Quinn emphasizes the importance of having someone who accepts their circumstances and supports the one in the spotlight, referencing the relationship between Harry and William.

In his opinion, Charlotte will be a perfect fit for George, as they have shared many significant moments together.

Despite George being two years older, the siblings had their first Christmas Day walkabout in 2019 and attended important events, such as the Platinum Jubilee commemorations and their first official trip to Cardiff in June 2022.

As Kate and William continue to prioritize their children experiencing milestones together, Charlotte has proven to be a reliable companion for her older brother.

Their bond is evident as they support each other during challenging times, such as attending their great-grandmother Elizabeth Ewe’s funeral in September.

In conclusion, Princess Charlotte and Prince George’s relationship bears similarities to that of Princess Anne and King Charles, with Charlotte displaying a confident and grounded demeanor akin to her great-aunt.

As George carries the weight of his future role, Charlotte is expected to be a supportive presence, providing guidance and understanding.

The siblings’ shared experiences and close bond demonstrate their ability to navigate the pressures of royalty together.
