Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Demand Photo Agency Give Them Footage of ‘Chase’
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are pressuring a photo agency that claimed their freelance paparazzi posed no threat on Tuesday evening.
The couple’s legal team has written to Backgrid, demanding footage of the “chase” to strengthen their own security.
The letter stated that they require copies of “all photos, videos, and/or films taken last night by the freelance photographers after the couple left their event and over the next several hours.”
However, Backgrid’s attorney has refused the Sussex’s request, claiming that property belongs to the owner of it and third parties cannot demand it be handed over.
Backgrid stated that they had four photographers; three were in cars while one was on a bike.

They added that they “had no intention of causing any distress or harm, as their only tool was their cameras.”
There is no legal basis for Backgrid to turn over its footage since there has been no lawsuit that would necessitate the agency to surrender documents.
Harry and Meghan’s team claim that their encounter with the paparazzi was almost catastrophic.
NYPD sources, on the other hand, have expressed that the incident was highly exaggerated.
The Duchess of Sussex has previously expressed her angst at the media’s treatment of her.
In 2019, she told ITV News that she was warned about British tabloids, saying, “I never thought that this would be easy, but I thought it would be fair.”
The Duke and Duchess also filed a lawsuit against a British tabloid in 2019, alleging misuse of private information, infringement of copyright, and breach of the Data Protection Act.
In another instance, the couple’s lawyers wrote to UK media outlets, stating that photographs of Meghan walking with her son Archie in Canada infringed on their privacy.
The pictures were captured by a photographer hiding in bushes.
However, despite their efforts, Harry and Meghan have not always seen eye-to-eye with the media.
