Lady Gaga Reveals Battle with Chronic Pain Disorder Fibromyalgia
Lady Gaga has stated that she suffers from fibromyalgia, a chronic pain illness that can affect the entire body.
The Netflix documentary “Gaga: Five Foot Two,” which premieres September 22, will give audiences an intimate look at the singer’s health challenges.
The pop artist is seen taking injections to address acute muscular pain in her new Netflix documentary.
The singer revealed her affliction on social media on Tuesday, writing, “In our documentary the #chronicillness #chronicpain I deal w/ is #Fibromyalgia I wish to help raise awareness & connect people who have it.”
According to the Mayo Clinic, fibromyalgia is a condition that causes widespread muscular discomfort and soreness. Fatigue, as well as sleep, memory, and mood problems, are among symptoms of the disorder.

The pop sensation was shown in a doctor’s office in the first teaser for her documentary, and she revealed more about how the film tackles her battle at the Toronto Film Festival.
“It’s hard,” Gaga reportedly said. “But it’s liberating, too.”
While Gaga has previously spoken up about her battles with chronic pain, this is the first time she has given the condition a name. “Having a frustrating day with chronic pain, but I find myself feeling so blessed to have such strong intelligent female doctors,” Gaga said in an Instagram post in 2016.
She praised admirers for their kind comments to the message a day later. She also included a list of “personal remedies” that she claims have helped her manage her discomfort.
When her body went into spasm, she used an infrared sauna while wearing a thermal silver blanket, followed by an extremely cold ice bath.
Gaga was forced to cancel a number of tour dates in 2013 due to a fractured hip. Gaga rushed to her website at the time to explain herself to her fans, stating that she’d been suffering from a show injury and chronic pain for quite some time, and that she’d been unable to walk after the last performance.
On Friday, the singer debuted Gaga: Five Foot Two at the Toronto International Film Festival, where she also performed, two days after canceling a gig in Montreal, Canada due to sickness.
