Keira Knightley, who portrayed Padmé Amidala’s decoy in the 1999 Star Wars prequel The Phantom Menace, has acknowledged to dozing off during filming.

When she acted as Natalie Portman’s character Queen Amidala’s body double, the 34-year-old actress was just 12 years old.

When The Phantom Menace was being filmed, Knightley was a preteen, and the long days and demanding circumstances just exhausted her.

Knightley responded to a question from Total Film about her experience on the movie: “I mean, I was 12. I literally don’t remember… I remember the headdress being so heavy, it gave me a headache. I really remember the headache from one of the headdresses.”

“And I remember being in the background for such a long time that I’d actually fallen asleep.”

She added: “I was just sitting in a chair, and I was in the background, but I couldn’t keep my eyes open. I really remember that. But apart from that, I don’t remember anything else about it.”

Knightley was indeed pretty young when she worked on The Phantom Menace, but given that the majority of viewers are likely unaware that she was even in the film, it makes sense that she has few recollections of the experience.

Along with Liam Neeson, Ewan McGregor, and Natalie Portman, the Love Actually star is only one of a number of well-known performers who feature in the movie.

Pride and Prejudice, The Aftermath 2019, Love Actually, Anna Karenina, The Duchess, Pirates of the Caribbean, and many more well-known movies include Keira Knightley. She has made various notable hits.

Knightley will be seen in Misbehavior, a drama based on a genuine event in which the Women’s Liberation Movement interfered with the Miss World pageant’s live broadcast in 1970. Misbehaviour will be released in theaters on March 13.

The movie also features Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Jennifer Hosten, the Miss Grenada competitor who went on to win Miss World at the same competition and became the first black woman to do so.

Keeley Hawes (Bodyguard), Jessie Buckley (Chernobyl, Wild Rose), Lesley Manville, Greg Kinnear, Rhys Ifans, and Phyllis Logan are also a part of the Misbehavior ensemble.

Some timeback, it came to light that Mark Hamill had seen a bionic R2-D2 limb that a Star Wars fan had purchased for him with about $14,000 in donations.

Bella Tadlock, from Tallahassee, Florida chatted via Skype to Hamill, the veteran actor who portrays the bionically-armed Luke Skywalker in the franchise.

Tadlock’s hands and arms were born with birth abnormalities. In November of last year, Hamill informed his 3.6 million Twitter followers about her fundraising effort to cover the cost of the almost $14,000 (£11,000) prosthetic limb.

Tadlock said, “I now have two hands – I am so excited. I will be able to ride my bike, create in the kitchen and be like my friends. To be able to bend my fingers and pick things up is a dream come true.”
