The well-known supermodel Kate Moss recently spoke about her iconic topless campaign for Calvin Klein, which she did in 1992 alongside Mark Wahlberg.

During her appearance on BBC Radio 4’s “Desert Island Discs,” Moss revealed that she felt “vulnerable and scared” on set.

She recalls the experience being “not very good.”

Moss stated that Wahlberg was “very macho” and had a large entourage, while she was “just this kind of model.”

The model was 17 years old at the time of the shoot, where she posed without a shirt while straddling Wahlberg.

She expressed feeling objectified, explaining that Calvin Klein “played on her vulnerability,” as she was young and innocent, and the brand capitalized on it.

Before the shoot, Moss stated that she was struggling with “severe anxiety” and was prescribed Valium to help her prepare.

The model admitted that for about two weeks before the shoot, she was unable to get out of bed. This isn’t the first time Moss has opened up about the difficult experience.

In 2012, she told Vanity Fair, “I had a nervous breakdown when I was 17 or 18, when I had to go and work with Marky Mark and Herb Ritts.”

Moss explained that the experience didn’t feel like herself and that she felt uncomfortable straddling the buff actor.

She stated that she felt really bad and couldn’t get out of bed for two weeks, adding that she thought she was going to die.

In a 2020 interview with the Guardian, Mark Wahlberg discussed working with Moss.

He acknowledged that he was “probably a little rough around the edges” and “not very…worldly” at the time.

However, he mentioned that he has since made amends with Moss, as they have seen each other at concerts and said hello, exchanging pleasantries.

The Calvin Klein campaign was based on the Entourage, a popular HBO show that was inspired by Wahlberg’s rowdy friend group during his rise to fame.

However, the designer himself has less-than-fond memories of the iconic underwear ad.

In 2010, Klein stated that the shoot “didn’t go too well,” and that Moss was “difficult” to work with, but Wahlberg was a “pleasure.”

Wahlberg had multiple brushes with the law in his late teens and early 20s.

In 1988, at the age of 16, he attacked a Vietnamese man and served about 45 days in jail, although he asked for a pardon in 2014.
