On the eve of the much-anticipated coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla, Kate Middleton and Prince William had a packed schedule.

The royal couple attended a lunch at Buckingham Palace on Friday, where they warmly welcomed Governors-General and Prime Ministers from across the realm who had traveled to London for the momentous occasion.

Prince William, 40, and Princess Kate, 41, made a stylish entrance, both opting for a classic black and white ensemble.

The event provided an opportunity for them to mingle with esteemed guests, including Australian Prime Minister Antony Albanese and New Zealand’s Prime Minister Chris Hipkins, among others.

All eyes were on Kate as she donned a pair of Bahrain Pearl Drop earrings, which are exquisite jewels crafted from a shell containing seven pearls.

These precious earrings were gifted to Queen Elizabeth by the ruler of Bahrain for her wedding in 1947 and have also been worn by Princess Diana.

The stunning design features a large round diamond with a smaller circle diamond hanging below it.

Three baguette diamonds are suspended from there, leading down to the dangling pearl.

It is worth noting that Kate has chosen these earrings on several significant occasions in recent years, including Prince Philip’s funeral in April 2021 and Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in September 2022.

Her choice of accessory adds a touch of sentimental value to her elegant ensemble.

In addition to Kate and William, King Charles, 74, was also present at the lunch and appeared to be in high spirits as he engaged in conversations with the guests.

Earlier in the day, members of the royal family, including Prince William, participated in a rehearsal for the coronation service at Westminster Abbey.

Westminster Abbey has been the venue for British monarchs’ rehearsals since 1066, and this tradition continues to this day.

As the rain poured down, King Charles left the abbey through a side door at Dean’s Yard.

Despite the weather, he seemed cheerful as he shook hands with his escort before getting into his car.

Prince William, too, attended the morning rehearsal and arrived in style in a Range Rover.

The excitement in the air was palpable as the crowd cheered and waved.

Police blew whistles to alert both traffic and pedestrians of the VIP’s arrival.

Prince William’s car made its way through the gates of Dean’s Yard, marking his participation in the preparations for his father’s coronation.

Speaking of the upcoming coronation, Prince William is keeping his fingers crossed for good weather.

The question of what happens if it rains on the day of the ceremony remains.

The anticipation is building, and the royal family has been diligently rehearsing throughout the week.

Prince William and Princess Kate even brought along their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, to a practice session on Wednesday.

During a visit to the Dog & Duck pub in Soho on Thursday, Kate shared her excitement about the event with a well-wisher.

The Duchess revealed that her children were eagerly looking forward to the coronation.

“They’re very excited,” she said.

“They had their rehearsal yesterday, so they know what to expect.”

Kate also admitted feeling more nervous than her kids since it is such a significant event for them.

She reassured the well-wisher that Prince Louis would be present and would surely remember the occasion.

The coronation holds great significance for the Wales family, as both Prince William and Prince George, 9, are next in line to the throne.

They will play official roles in the ceremony, with Prince William paying homage to his father and Prince George serving as a page of honor to his grandfather.
