Harrison Ford Is ‘returning to Star Wars as Han Solo’
With Harrison Ford approaching 80 years old, one might be forgiven for believing that the latest Star Wars trilogy would be his last portrayal of Han Solo, the scruffy-looking nerf herder. However, a new report indicates that Harrison Ford will reprise the role that made him famous.
“A trusted and proven inside source has shared that Harrison Ford will play Han Solo again. We hear that the actor recently filmed his part for an upcoming project,” GFR reports, although neither Disney nor Lucasfilm have confirmed Ford’s return.
While Harrison Ford was on site for The Mandalorian season 3 or The Book of Boba Fett, we’re hearing that it was either of those two projects. Harrison Ford reportedly recorded a de-aged Han Solo for the project.
Who’s to say Han Solo, Chewbacca, or even Princess Leia won’t make a cameo during The Mandalorian’s season 2 finale? At least in terms of the Star Wars movie, we don’t know much about Han and Leia’s relationship.

The makers of the Star Wars Disney+ series are no strangers to de-aging its original trilogy heroes. The Mandalorian’s season two finale sees Luke Skywalker appear as a Padawan to take against Grogu (aka Baby Yoda). Mark Hamill was recast in the role and de-aged to portray a much younger Luke than in the previous trilogy. Because technology is improving all the time, Harrison Ford’s cameo should be the greatest yet.
With the legendary original characters firmly planted in the same world and historical period, it’s understandable that Disney would want Harrison Ford to reprise his role as Han Solo. Of course, this raises the issue of whether or not Mark Hamill will return in the future. Fans are hoping he’ll appear in season 3 of The Mandalorian, but there’s no news yet. If that were to happen, it would be fantastic to see Hamill and Ford on screen together again.
There have also been rumors that Chewbacca and other Wookiees may emerge in the “Mando-verse,” thus Solo’s appearance would make sense as well.
Ford’s presence is most likely to be in the reported Kylo Ren project, according to our best estimate.
The Book of Boba Fett is scheduled to be released on December 29, 2021, so fans won’t have to wait long to see Solo return to the Star Wars world.
