What Happens to Camilla After the Death of King Charles?
The question on everyone’s mind is what will happen to Camilla after the death of King Charles?
Following their coronation on May 6th, if the King passes away before her, what will be her fate?
This question has been trending on social media as people are curious about the future of the Queen Consort.
As both the King and Queen Consort are in their 70s, it is natural to wonder what will happen to the monarchy once they pass.
They could potentially reign as the heads of the monarchy for up to two decades.

However, if Charles dies before Camilla, her title will change from Queen Consort to Queen Dowager, according to reports.
This change in title is due to the fact that Camilla is not of royal blood.
As a result, she is only referred to as Queen Consort and not Queen.
When the King passes away, the now Queen Dowager will no longer be referred to as Queen, but she will keep her status and precedence as a member of the royal family.
This makes sense because if Charles were to pass away, Prince William would inherit the throne and Kate Middleton would become the Queen Consort.
Therefore, Camilla would automatically lose her title and right to be called Queen.
An example of this situation can be seen with the late Queen Elizabeth’s mother.
When her husband passed away, she technically became Queen Dowager.
However, she was referred to as Queen Mother because she was the biological parent of Queen Elizabeth.
Being the biological mother, she had the right to be referred to as Queen Mother.
Camilla, on the other hand, does not have any blood connection with the royals.
If it were Princess Diana instead, she could have been referred to as Queen Mother, just like late Queen Elizabeth’s mother.
This is because she was the biological mother of Prince William.
In conclusion, if King Charles passes away before Camilla, her title would change from Queen Consort to Queen Dowager.
This is a title generally held by the widow of the Queen and she would no longer be referred to as Queen.
However, she will keep her status and precedence as a member of the royal family.
