A “Breaking Bad” enthusiast has won an auction for $9,900 to own the white briefs worn by Bryan Cranston, who played the character of Walter White in the first episode of the AMC series.

The auction was conducted by Sony Pictures and Screenbid over a period of ten days.

The ‘tighty whities’ had a starting bid of $250, and are currently being displayed at New York’s Museum of the Moving Image.

After the exhibit ends, the winning bidder will be able to take ownership of the underwear.

This was not the only item up for auction.

An inscribed copy of Walt Whitman’s “Leaves of Grass,” which played a pivotal role in the latter half of the last season, was the most expensive item on offer, achieving a winning bid of $65,500.

Other memorabilia included gangster Hector Salamanca’s bell, which sold for $26,750, and Walter White’s Cadillac, which was purchased for $19,750.

The auction, which concluded recently, raised almost $1 million.

One item that was not available for purchase was the RV that White and accomplice Jesse Pinkman used to cook up meth.

Sony plans to keep the vehicle for studio tours.

“Breaking Bad,” which aired from 2008 to 2013, was a critically acclaimed series that followed the life of a high school chemistry teacher, Walter White, who turns to cooking and selling methamphetamine after being diagnosed with cancer.

The show won 16 Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globes and has become a cult classic.

The auction was a chance for fans of the show to own a piece of the iconic series.

In recent years, items such as the ruby slippers worn by Judy Garland in “The Wizard of Oz” and the lightsaber used by Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker in “Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope” have sold for millions of dollars.

The success of the “Breaking Bad” auction follows the trend of high prices for TV show memorabilia.

In 2015, the famous orange couch from the Central Perk coffee shop from “Friends” sold for $41,000 at an auction in Los Angeles.

The Museum of the Moving Image exhibit of “Breaking Bad” memorabilia is part of a larger exhibition called “Envisioning 2001: Stanley Kubrick’s Space Odyssey.” The exhibit is set to run until July 19th.
