Princess Beatrice Set to Honor Queen with Baby Name, Contrasting Meghan’s Choice
Princess Beatrice is expected to pay tribute to her grandmother, the Queen, by naming her baby girl after her.
Bookmakers at William Hill have made “Elizabeth” the frontrunner for the name of Beatrice and Eduardo Mopeli Mozzi’s first child, with odds of 5-1.
The royal couple welcomed their little girl into the world on Saturday, making her the 11th in line to the throne and the Queen’s 12th great-grandchild.
Rupert Adams, spokesperson for William Hill, stated, “We initially had ‘Florence’ as the top choice at 9-2 odds, but there has been a significant shift towards Princess Beatrice naming her baby girl after the Queen.
‘Elizabeth’ is now the hot favorite.”

Meanwhile, the odds for ‘Florence’ have dropped to 6-1, while ‘Elizabeth’ has seen a significant decrease from 10-1 to 5-1 within the last 24 hours.
There has also been some support for the name ‘Arabella,’ with odds going from 13-2 to 11-2.
Choosing the name ‘Elizabeth’ would be a heartfelt nod to Beatrice’s grandmother, the Queen, and undoubtedly bring joy to royal enthusiasts.
It is worth noting that Beatrice already shares ‘Elizabeth’ as one of her middle names.
Twitter users have been speculating on the other potential names, with WolfieGirl99 commenting, “We all know Elizabeth and/or Philippa is in there somewhere.
The rest is anyone’s guess.”
Another user, JTB30, predicted that Beatrice might include her mother’s name, saying, “I’m thinking Sarah will be in there somewhere.”
SclaresCastle suggested the name ‘Alexandrina Elizabeth Philippa.’
Earlier this year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle named their daughter ‘Lilibet’ after the Queen’s childhood nickname.
However, a royal expert claims that the Queen was not asked but rather informed by the couple about their choice.
Giles Brandreth joined a heated debate on Good Morning Britain, where Susannah Reid asked him why there was now a dispute over the baby’s name.
Brandreth, author of “Philip, The Final Portrait,” replied, “This should be a minor issue.
The question is whether the Queen was asked by Harry and Meghan or simply told.
Either way, she obviously agreed because she is a loving and decent grandmother.”
The palace seemed to indicate that the Queen was informed, while Harry and Meghan’s spokesperson suggested that she was asked.
Ladbrokes, another bookmaker, currently has ‘Elizabeth’ at 7-1 odds for Beatrice’s royal baby.
Their top prediction is ‘Arabella’ at 3-1, followed by ‘Matilda’ at 4-1 and ‘Florence’ at 9-1.
Jessica O’Reilly from Ladbrokes stated, “Punters are convinced that Beatrice and Edo’s little girl will have an Italian-inspired name, and the betting suggests it will be ‘Arabella.'”
Buckingham Palace officially announced the arrival of Beatrice’s daughter on Monday, stating, “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Eduardo Moppelli-Mozzi are thrilled to announce the safe arrival of their daughter on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at 23:42, at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London.
The baby weighs 6 pounds and 2 ounces.
The new baby’s grandparents and great-grandparents have all been informed and are delighted with the news.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the hospital staff for their exceptional care.
Both Her Royal Highness and her child are doing well, and the couple is eagerly anticipating introducing their daughter to her older brother, Christopher Wolfe.”
Beatrice is already a stepmother to Mr. Moppelli-Mozzi’s young son, Wolfie, from his previous relationship with ex-fiancée Dara Huang.
Additionally, her younger sister, Princess Eugenie, welcomed a baby boy named August in February.
The sisters will undoubtedly be overjoyed to have their children close in age and share the experience of being first-time mothers.
