Prince William’s Relationship with Prince Harry Strained as Memoir Announcement Looms
Prince William has reportedly distanced himself from his younger brother, Prince Harry, ever since news broke about Harry’s upcoming memoir.
Titled “Spare,” the 416-page book alludes to the phrase “the heir and the spare,” often used to refer to the two brothers.
While the memoir is said to provide a truthful and accurate account of royal circles, Prince Harry has assured the public that it will be a candid and captivating personal portrait of his life.
Penguin Random House, the book’s publishers, describes it as a fearless chronicle from childhood to the present day.
Since the announcement of the book’s release, experts claim that Prince Harry and Prince William have barely spoken to each other.
Trending:
The Prince of Wales has remained quiet in recent months regarding the book, leaving the royal family anxiously anticipating its publication.
Royal author and expert Angela Levine predicts that the family will be prepared to read the book and will have lawyers ready, although they won’t review it until after its release.
According to Levine, the royal family and their legal counsel will likely remain in the dark until then.
In a statement to The Sun, Levine disclosed that the lawyers won’t review the book until after publication, as the millions already paid to Harry won’t be worthwhile if it lacks substance.
Omid Scobie, Harry’s biographer, claims that the feud between the two brothers began with William’s advice to take things easy with Meghan Markle, Harry’s new fiancée at the time.
The release of “Spare,” featuring a dramatic cover portrait of Harry, was initially scheduled for this fall but was postponed out of respect for the Queen following her passing.
Her death brought Charles, William, and Harry together again, as they attended her funeral, walking behind her coffin in multiple processions alongside their wives.
A source revealed to The Sun that Harry has been eager to refine the memoir in light of the Queen’s death, her funeral, and his father Charles ascending the throne.
He wants to ensure that certain sections don’t reflect poorly so soon after these events.
While he desires changes, it may already be too late.
The hardcover copy of the book is priced at £28, while the audiobook, narrated by Harry himself, costs £20.
However, Waterstones is already selling it at a discounted price.
For Harry, this memoir is a chance to share his story finally.
Penguin Random House describes “Spare” as a significant publication filled with insights, revelations, self-reflection, and hard-earned wisdom about the enduring power of love over grief.
Notably, Harry has contributed £1.3 million of his £18.4 million advance to his children’s charity, SentiBail, and donated £300,000 to WorldChild, a charity supporting disadvantaged children.
As the release of “Spare” approaches, tensions between Prince William and Prince Harry continue to strain their relationship.
The royal family awaits the memoir’s arrival, prepared to address any potential controversies it may bring.
Only time will tell how this candid account of Harry’s life will impact the dynamics within the royal family.
