The decision to not move alongside Harry in procession was taken by Prince William, not the Queen.

According to one royal source, Prince William talked to the Queen about not walking beside his brother Prince Harry at the funeral procession.

Charlie Rae, a former royal editor at The Sun, assured talkRADIO that the contentious choice to not walk alongside Harry was made by William, not the Queen.

At the funeral procession, their elder cousin Peter Phillips, Princess Anne’s son, segregated the two princes.

Mr Rae told Kevin O’Sullivan on talkRADIO that he doesn’t think the Duke of Sussex “fully understands the hurt he has caused.”

According to Mr. O’Sullivan, “No wonder William is so furious.

“I have some sympathy with his decision not to walk next to his brother.

“I do sense it would have been William being the prime mover in this.”

He continued, “He would have said ‘After the way my brother has behaved, I’m not walking next to him’.

“Would you agree?”

Mr. Rae replied, “Yes, I can’t argue with it because the appearance is that is what happened.

“The Oprah interview did so much damage, and hurt so many people in the Royal Family.”

He mentioned the uproar about Gayle King’s comment on US morning television that recent family talks were “not fruitful.”

“William isn’t going to trust speaking to Harry during the visit in case it ends up on US television,” Mr Rae said.

“I’m not sure he fully understands the hurt he has caused.”

Princess Anne’s son, Peter Phillips, marched between Harry and William in the first procession. In the second procession into the church, William walked alongside Peter, while Harry walked behind them, alongside Princess Margaret’s son, David Armstrong-Jones.

Princess Anne was a leading figure in the funeral procession for her father, Prince Philip, on Saturday.

Anne, Philip and Queen Elizabeth’s only daughter and the procession’s only woman, marched alongside her older brother, Prince Charles, who walked closely behind his father’s coffin.

The procession’s second line was made up of their two younger siblings, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward.

Anne, who is a royal colonel in the Household Division, wore a black jacked with her service medals, as per the royal family’s dress code for veterans of the armed forces.

Anne, 70, is Philip’s second child and only girl, with a busy and active position in the Royal family. She is known by her formal title, the Princess Royal.

During royal funeral processions, men traditionally accompany the casket, but Anne, clad in a black coat with her military decorations, followed the men on Saturday, echoing her appearance during the funeral of her grandmother, the Queen Mother, in 2002, when she was also part of the procession.

Anne is the 15th in line to the throne, after her brothers Charles, Andrew, and Edward, as well as their children and grandchildren.
