Prince Harry’s Deceptive Remarks About Nottingham Cottage Unveiled

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have recently shared their recollections of living in Nottingham Cottage, their first home together, during the fourth episode of their Netflix series.

However, their claims have been called into question, as it appears that Harry may not have been entirely truthful about the history of their former residence.

Harry asserted, “As far as people were concerned, we were living in a palace and we were in a cottage.”

Meghan chimed in, adding, “Together, we were living on palace grounds.

Kensington Palace sounds very regal.

Of course it does.

It says palace in the name.

But Nottingham Cottage was so small.

The whole building’s on a slight lean, really low ceilings.

I don’t know who was there before us, but they must have been really short.”

Meghan also mentioned that Harry would often hit his head due to his height.

However, eagle-eyed royal watchers were quick to point out that Nottingham Cottage had notable occupants before the Sussexes moved in.

Historian Marlene Koenig, who extensively researched European royalty, revealed on Twitter that the cottage was designed by Sir Christopher Wren and had been inhabited by Harry’s brother, sister-in-law, and nephew, as well as his aunt and uncle, and the late Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.

Fans of the royal family also expressed their skepticism towards Harry’s comments.

One Twitter user sarcastically remarked, “Imagine complaining that Nottingham Cottage is small and unfit for you, when Prince William, the highest-ranking member of the royal family, lived there with his wife and Prince George for quite a long time.”

Another user questioned Harry’s claim of not knowing the previous tenants, stating, “Um, wasn’t that where William and Kate lived?

Ah yeah, super short William and Kate.”

It is worth noting that the Sussexes resided in Nottingham Cottage just like William and Kate did when they were newlyweds, while awaiting the renovation of their Kensington Palace apartments.

The plan was for William and Kate to move into the refurbished apartments next to Kensington Palace, but the Sussexes reportedly declined the idea and suggested Windsor Castle instead.

However, Queen Elizabeth rejected this proposal, as Windsor is traditionally reserved for monarchs.

Eventually, Frogmore Cottage was offered to Harry and Meghan, which they accepted without realizing it was not the grand Frogmore House where they had their engagement photo shoot, but a more modest dwelling.

While Frogmore Cottage is spacious and beautiful once renovated, it is not as grand as Frogmore House.

By rejecting Kensington Palace and relocating to Windsor, the Sussexes removed themselves from the vibrant atmosphere of London and the picturesque grounds of Kensington Palace.

Furthermore, Windsor is a considerable distance from London, taking nearly an hour by car or one and a half hours by train.

This decision means that if Harry and Meghan return to the UK, Frogmore Cottage will be their permanent base, as they turned down the opportunity to reside at Kensington Palace.

In contrast, Prince William and Catherine, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, are based at Adelaide Cottage, another option that Harry and Meghan apparently rejected.

Despite this, William and Catherine still maintain their apartments at Kensington as their London residence.

In light of these revelations, it seems that Harry’s portrayal of Nottingham Cottage may not have been entirely accurate.

The discrepancies between his statements and the historical facts have raised doubts about the veracity of his claims.

As the public continues to scrutinize their actions and statements, it remains to be seen how this latest revelation will impact the public perception of the Sussexes.
