Prince George Makes History at Coronation by Changing Tradition
In a groundbreaking move, Prince George, the charismatic nine-year-old future king, has reportedly made history by persuading his grandfather, King Charles, to break with a long-standing tradition at the coronation.
The young prince successfully convinced the king to replace the white knee breeches worn by the Pages of Honour with trousers, in order to avoid potential embarrassment and teasing.
King Charles, always attentive to his grandson’s wishes, graciously agreed to this unconventional request.
Thanks to the persuasive powers of Prince George, the Pages of Honour were able to proudly march in trousers during the historic event.
Prince George’s quick thinking and diplomatic approach to the matter demonstrate a maturity well beyond his years.

During the momentous occasion, he played a central role alongside his sister, Princess Charlotte, and his brother, Prince Louis.
Walking behind his grandfather, Prince George assisted in carrying the king’s majestic robes as they entered and exited Westminster Abbey.
This gesture holds great significance, as George and seven other boys, named Pages of Honour, accompanied their majesties, the king and queen, throughout the solemn service.
Traditionally, the duty of being a Page of Honour is bestowed upon teenage sons of noble and gentry families, particularly those associated with senior royal household members.
However, despite the usual age range for such responsibility being between 12 and 15, Prince George’s deep interest in the ceremony and his remarkable maturity led him to be entrusted with this task.
An insider revealed prior to the coronation that King Charles was eager to showcase the natural heir to the throne at the heart of the event.
Despite his tender age, Prince George already possesses a profound understanding of the roles his grandfather and father play, as well as his own future role as king.
His participation as a Page of Honour serves as a symbolic and powerful testament to the path that lies ahead, skillfully laid out by the king.
Among the other Pages of Honour chosen by the king were Lord Oliver Chole-Mondeley, 13, Nicholas Barkley, 13, and Ralph Tollemarche, 12.
The queen consort’s grandsons, twins Garson Louis Lopes and Freddie Parker Bowles, accompanied by her great nephew, Arthur Elliot, also filled these esteemed roles.
Dressed in scarlet frock coats adorned with gold trimmings, white satin waistcoats, trousers and hose, white gloves, black buckled shoes, and accessorized with lace cravats and ruffles, these young Pages embodied elegance and tradition.
Prince George’s influence in amending the coronation dress code for Pages of Honour demonstrates his ability to make a lasting impact even at such a young age.
With his charming demeanor and persuasive skills, the future king has proven that he possesses the qualities of leadership and diplomacy, traits that bode well for his future reign.
As the world watches this young prince grow and mature, it becomes increasingly clear that he is destined to leave an indelible mark on the monarchy.
