Nicolas Cage marries for the 5th time in a ‘very small and intimate’ ceremony

Nicolas Cage has married for the fifth time, according to DailyMail.com.

The 56 year old actor tied the knot with his 26-year-old girlfriend Riko Shibata in an intimate Las Vegas wedding attended by his ex-wife and son.

Nicolas and Riko, 26, married in the Wynn hotel in Sin City on a day picked to commemorate Nicolas’ late father’s birthday.

“It’s true, and we are very happy.” Cage said in a statement to USA Today.

Shibata wore an exquisite Japanese wedding kimono to the event, while Cage wore a more typical tuxedo suit.

“They exchanged traditional Catholic and Shinto vows with poetry from Walt Whitman and Haiku sprinkled in,” the spokesman stated. “After the wedding, the happy couple was joined for a small celebration attended by Nicolas’ ex-wife, Alice (whom he remains very good friends with) and their son Kal.”

The newlyweds were photographed in the hotel’s Primrose Courtyard, surrounded by white candles and green vegetation, while the disguised officiant Reverend Richard E. Walter completed the ceremony before the newlyweds walked hand in hand back inside the hotel.

Shibata has also adopted her new husband’s surname, Riko Cage, according to their Nevada marriage license.

Cage married Patricia Arquette, a fellow actor, in 1995. They were married for six years until 2001, when they divorced.

Cage later married Alice Kim, a former waitress, in 2004, and the couple welcomed his second child, Kal-El, in 2005. Weston Coppola, the actor’s first child, was born in 1990, when he was dating actress Christina Fulton. Kim and Cage split after 12 years of marriage.

Cage last married Erika Koike in March 2019, but their marriage barely lasted four days.

Nicolas proposed to Riko through video chat in August, and stated the coronavirus epidemic prohibited him from proposing in person.

“She left New York and went back to Kyoto, Japan, and I went back to Nevada and I haven’t seen her for six months,” Cage stated on Marc Coppola’s Q104.3 radio show. “We’re really happy together and we’re really excited to spend that time together, so I finally just said, ‘Look, I wanna marry you,’ and we got engaged on FaceTime.”

Then he purchased her a unique black ring and sent it to her in Japan.

“Her favorite color is black so she wanted the black gold, and the black diamond,” he added, adding, “I customized and personalized it and I actually sent it to her FedEx.”

Cage and Riko applied for their wedding license on January 10, the day of Riko’s 26th birthday, and it is her first marriage, according to official paperwork.

Shibata is 31 years younger than Cage, and his first son, Weston, is four years younger.
