According to the Wall Street Journal, many of the shows pitched by the couple were too similar to existing content on the platform, prompting executives to label them as “big ideas with subpar execution.”
Productivity has also been an issue, with reports suggesting that Netflix is unlikely to renew its deal with the couple, which is set to expire in 2025.
In fact, the streaming giant has reportedly given the Sussexes an ultimatum: come up with better content or risk losing millions of dollars.
The couple is said to have already received about half of their $100 million contract with Netflix, but the rest is contingent on the quality of their future productions.
If they fail to deliver, Netflix is prepared to cut their deal short and refuse to pay them in full.

Despite this, Meghan and Harry were recently spotted at Netflix headquarters, where they are said to be planning a show called “Bad Manners,” inspired by Charles Dickens’ “Great Expectations.”
However, this idea was reportedly dropped by Netflix, although the couple is said to be begging for it to be accepted.
It’s not all bad news for the couple, as they do have at least one other series in production, also inspired by “Great Expectations.”
This show, called “Bad Manners,” is said to be a prequel to the classic novel and tells the story of a lonely Miss Havisham living in a patriarchal society.
